Default Question regarding OBEs
Hello all, I'm new in all this metaphysics stuff, and I was wondering what exactly an OBE is? Because I was very amazed with the first thoughts I got from all this. Is it that in real life (nor dreaming, not inside your brain) your "soul" gets apart from the body and you can actually travel around the world (or town, city, house, etc) and see what is happening currently in real life? Or is it just a very realistic dream?

Also, when you go from a trance to an OBE do you feel as if the OBE is currently happening to you? Or how does it feels?

Thanks in advance.

There are many opinions of this, so I'll give you mine.

Using various techniques, one part of your body (not a physical part) seperates from your physical body to which it is normally 'connected' or associated closely with.

As far as traveling, you can travel within a dimension that mirrors the physical dimension. Things will move as normal, except that you cannot interact with them. Another difference is that your thoughts directly influence the environment. If you visualized a pot of flowers in front of you when you're in this state, it will appear.

From what I've heard, moving around feels more or less just like it does when you're physically moving around, except with fewer restrictions. You can move through solid matter because, as stated before, you cannot interact with it. Instantaneous travel to anywhere you desire is accomplished with a thought, as is returning to your physical body and 'waking up'.

As for how the seperation feels, you can end up on either side of the seperation. You can remain 'inside' the physical body that is in heavy trance, or you can transfer to the projected energy body and experience it all first hand. They both happen at the same time, but you only experience one at once. Later, through various methods, you can 'recall' both experiences that happened during the same time frame. This is called the mind-split effect.
