I would say 13 is not to young to start learning BUT do not take it too seriously. This kind of work can affect the mind profoundly - and your mind is still forming (by this I mean the brain is still forming and so will have effects on mind development). If you don't take anything as absolutes and stay open to all possibilities it should be ok.

I am 14 and i am TRYING to do this but i find it affects my schoolwork too much, remember there is plenty of time LATER to do this, patientence is a virtue.

I'm 48 and I started projecting spontaneously since I was 7 or 8- didn't realize what I was doing until about 10- My 8 year old son is already giving signs that he's starting to do it, he tells me about flying at night with the cat- I just tell him next time to come get me and I'll fly with him. (He thinks it's "a different kind of dreaming (lucid)" I don't explain too much, only tell him to have fun if he knows he's dreaming. At your age it's great that there's good material like MAP and AD to learn with- better to learn about it so you learn to control it- I read my first how-to book only like 5 years ago and was able to project on purpose only twice in my life. So like AL said, don't take it too seriously- just have fun.

I believe 13 is a very good age to start these kinds of things, although I would suggest working with energy first using Robert Bruce's NEW system or similair before you try and project.
I second this. NEW is a good foundation that will help you make sense of things to come. Another book that would have been enormously helpful when I was younger is Eckhart Tolle's "Power of Now." You might want to wait until you are a bit older, or maybe start with the simplified version called "Stillness Speaks." It explains how our personalities and egos can get in our way as we develop spiritually.

Keep your focus on learning and enjoying the moment, rather than dreaming about how you're going to be special and powerful. It's tempting, I know! But it just distracts you from the experience of growing. And of course, like others have said, make it a fun thing and don't let it overtake the rest of your life

I would, however, try to avoid the PSD forum type stuff untill your about 16 or so.
Yeah im aware of that stuff because i was listening about it on a couple of Robert Bruces Radio Programs and yeah id rather keep out of it pretty crazy stuff because i dont wanna learn about demons. At the moment im really into Luicd Dreaming,Astral Projection,Kundalini,Chakras,Relaxations and other energy related things but my mates brother wants to show me something really awesum i think he wants to show me something to do do with zen meditation or ''The Nothing'' i think.

Best of luck! Be prepared though, even for the smallest of things. Once you start getting into this (sounds like you already have )

It's going to be amazing. It will be great for you because you are younger then many here, you may have more inspiration etc.

This is why I had a baby. I wondered what would have happened if I was introduced to these things at a younger age, and not have stumbled apon it like I did.

Good luck and have fun!
