I've been reading a lot about the different CDs that can be purchased to help induce OBE's. Can anyone recommend any good ones, and where I might buy them? I poked around the Monroe Institute website and they have a huge selection, but the descriptions are vague and the CDs are very expensive. I don't mind spending the bucks if it's worthwhile, but I don't want to blow a bunch of money on something that will be of no use to me. Or are there any CD's that actually help? Opinions and recommendations?

The Monroe Institute's Gateway series are worth the money in my opinion. Start with Wave I (3 cd's) and work from there.
I will say don't expect quick results (you might get them though) as these CD's are more a training series into inducing other states of consciousness at will rather than a 1 shot binaural beat track attempting to induce OBE whilst listened to. I've had tremendous experiences with them over the past 5 years. My first intention was always OBE, but the things I have experienced have opened my eyes to a lot more. Like anything, using them regularly will be the most effective. Learning anything takes regular practice ![]() Another option is a software program called Brainwave Generator (BWGen). A quick google search will take you to its site where you can download a free version of this software. It allows you to create binaural beat tracks (binaural beats are the technology the majority of these OBE cd’s utilise ) or listen to tracks other people have made. |

I will look into the Gateway series. I think I'd tend to trust something from the Monroe institute over some unknown source. I'll have to wait until after Christmas, though, since they are a bit expensive.
I've looked at the BWGen software, and the only problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to download it to other media, such as a CD, Palm Pilot or IPOD. Sitting in front of my PC is not exactly where I want to be induced into another state. Perhaps I'm being a techno-dummy, but if you happen to know how to do that, I'd appreciate instruction! Many thanks! ![]() |

Hi Daisy,
To convert BWG files all you have to do is go to Wave >> Play Into Wave File. WAV files can be burnt to CD directly, or imported onto an external device such as an iPod. I strongly recommend you read this threadthat I posted over at Gates Of Mysticism. Warm Regards, Sasha |

Thus, you cannot put the files on a portable music thingy since they're not music files. Once the BWG data is in WAV file it can be utilized or manipulated like any other music file.. Please refer to my above post. Warm Regards, Sasha Edit: Post redundant, please refer to above post |
