I have as yet to have a concious OBE that I remember. Often, when waking up from a nap I find myself fully paralyzed, and also extremely hot. I am usually covered with a blanket, and my body is generating this amazing amount of heat and its quite uncomfortable. Usually I am so hot its causing me a headache, and I feel like I am almost suffacating from the heat. While in the sleep parlysis state I have the ability to bring on the body vibrations, but usually I abort them quite quickly just because the heat is seemingly unbearable. I rarely, enter the sleep paralysis state unless my bodys heat is high. I am not sure if the heat, is just because Im dresssed and covered to warmly or if my body is generating the heat throught some kinda of pre-cursor mechanism for an OBE. I would much rather prefer to be able to go into sleep paralysis under normal body temperature conditions, as it would be much more comfortable and I wouldnt have the need to abort. Anyone experience this before?

I haven't experienced it like you say but I have found myself getting very hot and uncomfortable while trying to OB. I would say try sleeping with a lighter blanket and see what happens or maybe even a sheet. Also if it happens before you exit try just forcing yourself out quick. It could just be a fence that you have to get over. Good luck

I generally have a fan blowing on me at all times during voluntary work, since I've found I tend to feel hot if I get too deeply into trance. It does help cool me down.
If you want to try to attempt something in the middle of the night like that, you could try to have a fan there as I do. I generally have the fan blowing on me all night as well. |

From my experience with reiki, heat like that typically means that a large amount of healing is taking place and that energy passageways are being cleared out. In eather case, it occurs when a lot of energy is moving through a tight meridian.
I think it would be worth while for you to spend some more time focusing just on NEW-style energy movement techniques to help widen and clear out your energy body before focusing too hard on OBEs, which forces levels of power through your body far beyond what you would naturally generate. |

I am generally a hot person, and I have seemingly a real hard time controlling my body heat. I either get really Hot or really cold, and both extremes are quite uncomftrable. I find I cant even fall asleep period if the room temperature is above 70. I always attributed the heat coming from my body's high metabolism. But mayby thats not the case.
Celeborn, Its interesting you say that there is alot of energy moving through a tight meridian. Intuitively I feel like theres some enrgy work that needs to be done, Im just not quite sure where to start or even what to do. What are the NEW-style energy movement techniques?? Where could I find out more aobut them? |

Robert Bruce, the host of these forums, has written a couple of books on both astral projection and energy work.
His primary energy clearing and strengthening technique is called NEW (New Energy Ways). This modality takes the basic principles of kundalini yoga, Daoist yoga, chi gong, and various other eastern and western systems, and combines them in into the most lucid, effective, step by step, set of techniques that I have ever encountered. NEW also uses heavy tactile imaging rather then visualization, which is something that anyone can do. Also, form personal experience, this will develop your energy body MUCH MUCH faster then visualization. In several weeks to a couple of months I have seen energy newbies blow past people who have been using visual techniques for many years.
