6:00PM and I can barely see to take out the trash.
Summers are eternal, daylight at Summer Solistice can go to past 9:30 PM Then Winters -BOOM dark at 6:00 PM WTF?? seems like it should be the other way around, to even out the times. NOW is when we need an extra hour of evening daylight. Summers already have more evening daylight - why add an extra hour? And don't even tell me it's about saving energy. That's crap - ill try to find a study, but ppl work all different shifts, all over the country. Just get rid of DST at least, keep it all one time , it's not even healthy for the body to go thru dem changes. end of rant ![]() |

It was changed because the powers that be wanted more time to play out in the summer evenings. And most people hide away inside in the winter months....... yes I know the history, originally so farmers could get an extra hour of work done in the morning, and eat dinner, and go to bed at 8 PM. But we are not an agrarian society anymore. So what's the point? |

I've heard some people say it's better for the kids who ride the bus to school. They don't have to wait outside in the dark for the bus so some stupid ass murderer can kill them. I see the point, but for every reason why we have daylight at 6 AM, and darkeness the same , I can make counter arguments why it's bad for the economy. Pll come home from work, and it;'s dark. They get absolutely no sunshine. Best idea. Just do away with DST. keep it all on standard time, and let the sun gradually change the hours of dayliht darkness. better for your biorythyms, which also leads to lesss daylight deprivation and mood swings, and sickness. |

God knows Florida has more then their share of murdering whackjobs. I lost count on how many young mothers I chastised in grocery stores for walking away from their cart with their toddler sitting in it. I can't even imagine having a child ride a school bus or walk, no way. You want some crime? pick a state. Any state. Coming from the murder zone of Baltimore City, this place is downright serene |

LOL - not down here in Florida, winter is playtime. ![]() I agree......... I don't like winter......... We get some rain & fog- Tully fog, ground hugging & thick & stinky sometimes (not as bad since all the cows are eaten & they put in row after row of houses)... Summers are pretty hot but ![]() ![]() I think I never liked fall since I was a kid...... Fall meant end of summer-back to school, cold etc... |

Now you know Fl. is my home state, so I'm not going to bad mouth it needlessly. My people pioneered the danged place, for Pete's sake. If I compare where I am now to where I left (Tampa Bay) I'd have to say the crime in TB is about 100% higher...I chit you not. (Remember what I did there for a living. *G* ) East Bumfuck ( where ever the hell you are) rural areas. No NCIC computers? do they even have a telegraph line? LOL |
