The news was on in between the Olympics airings and for some reason the stupid station actually spoiled the biggest Olympics news of the night right before airing the gymnastics and swimming events for the night. What in the hell is that all about?

ESPN.com screwed me yesterday so I've been careful. I never would have guessed NBC would do that, though.

I can understand moving the big events to local prime time, although not as much on the weekend. It'll be nice having it in Brazil next time around.

This is not new, were you listening without sound? They tell you to turn away if you don't want to know and they do not say anything.

I never know what im watching at night, dont know if its live or not. When Vollmer won her 2nd Gold medal and set another WR I was initially under the impression that I was watching the first race in which she did this. Then when the girls gymnastics came on last night I wasnt into it because I already knew Jordyn Wieber fucked up and didnt make the cut and it was a huge upset that she didnt.

with all the social media out there I don't see a way around not hearing any big news about an event before the reairing of it 5-7 hours later. i was using their online feed over the weekend, but that doesn't seem like the best of options at work. hate the fact they won't let you go backwards on the feed for things you missed either.

on the gymnastics side, the 2 members from the same country cap for overall seems really dumb to me.

I was doing some other stuff and then they flashed the spoilers on the screen.

I thought it was dumb when I thought there were only eight people who competed for the overall. Since there are actually 24 people who qualify, there is no excuse for having such a rule.

They are airing live events on 4 different channels. With all the events going on, they have to tape delay some.

You can also see every event live on-line if you have an approved TV carrier.
I think NBC is doing a decent job so far of letting people know during the daytime and nighttime telecasts when they are going to show any spoilers.

i guess as long as you don't watch any of their other programming or do anything on the internet:

NBC's Bob Costas opened Saturday's NBC prime-time broadcast by noting that prime-time coverage is taped, which was sort of inevitable given that 8 p.m. ET is 1 a.m. local time in London. And Costas added that there will be no so-called spoiler alerts — warnings to viewers that the network is about to report event results.

Only, it was too late. NBC's Olympics lead-in, the Nightly News, led off with anchor Brian Williams announcing the results of the much-anticipated men's swimming 400 IM final, without even providing a spoiler alert.

Something there just don't sound right.

I decided to watch four episodes of Breaking Bad last night. I was kinda Olympically spent by sundown.

Except they're "saving" the most popular events (swimming, gymnastics, etc) for primetime tv rather than airing them live.

I watched the 4x100 relay live through their online stream with my HTPC - worked well but had British announcers.
