Default My boy's color seems to be changing!

Diesel is a deep chocolate shade and recently he has been getting some lighter spots on him. I tried to capture what I am seeing in the light. Can you see the almost golden spots??

That can occur for a number of reasons. How old is he? When pups shed their "puppy coat" their adult coat can sometimes be a shade or two different.

It also can occur when a dog is shedding winter fur... the dead hair turns a lighter colour than the living hair. When my seal and white bitch blows her winter coat, she looks like a merle with how patchy her seal gets And my red puppy looked merle and brindle all in one when he was blowing his puppy coat AND winter coat at the same time! So, I wouldn't be too worried

try a currying brush on him, like Teal said it might be the shedding, Goren's coat follows that of a deer, grey/brown in the winter to red in the summer, its really grey when he sheds, his is a sable coat though so its just...unique

Diesel is 10 months.

I never thought about the shedding thing. Makes perfect sense!
