Just a rant...

Everything was going well in my house, nice and quiet. UNTIL my brother and SIL moved in (the reason is something I won't get into online).

Now their large mixed breed dogs is starting fights with my dogs. Capone was across the room when the mutt charged him and a fight broke out. Of course my other dogs jumped into it and I had to get my five males off of him, while they just sat on the couch trying to ignore the noise by turning up the TV.

After that I told them that Skyler (their dog) and my dogs can NOT be together. If my dogs are in, they have to be crated or outside.

Last night I'm outside with my dogs hangin around and playing when my SIL comes out for a smoke and lets Skyler outside with her (after we REPEATEDLY told her not to) well I didn't know he was out there until he had a hold of Capone's face and my dogs where taking him to the ground. She's VERY lucky that I can call my dogs off. On top of that Skyler tags me when I go to grab his collar (after I've pulled my dogs off and told them to back up) I'm in plain view, don't startle him and he bites when I go to get him.

If that's not bad enough, my father is now convinced (he was there at the time) that my dogs are blood thirsty monsters when THEIR dog starts it. The fact that THREE, mature (but neutered) male Bully dogs can live together without issue doesn't mean anything. The fact that I WATCH their dogs start is doesn't mean anything.

It's gotten to the point that I have to kennel and LOCK their dog in it so they won't fuck up. Seeing as the can't manage a simpler C&R (I and other people can, but that's apparently because we're magical)

Thank GOD they are moving out in a week.

Damn! How many people live in that house? With how many animals?

As it turns out, lots of people are pieces of shit...and being family doesn't change that. My husband's step mom is unbelievable. We lived with her and Austin's Dad for about a year before we had our own place. That crazy bitch would leave the house to go to Lowe's or something, leave all the windows open, the front door and the garage door WIDE open. WTF, who does that? Honestly...who does that? And when we'd bitch about it, she'd say I was only down the street...true. And I was only gone 15 minutes, which might have been true, but still. Common sense. When I explain her to people I say she's like a 50 something year old with the mentality of a 9 year old.

It got to the point that towards the end when we went to bed at night we locked our bedroom door and slept with a baseball bat by the bed (we didn't have CWL then).

ATM I do, the two ass hats and my parents live here. I'm moving out soon-ish. I have the property and housing just need time to make it all liveable. We have a large yard and a good sized house, MY dogs get walked between 1 and 3 hours twice a day. Theirs don't ever get out of the house. But it's only their big mutt that's the issue, their chihuahua and other mix get alone fine.

So, your dad doesn't even consider your dogs' excellent behavior BEFORE that dog moved in??

I have all kinds of advice, but since you are moving out...no need.

No...he doesn't...but he's partial to their dog...He bandaged (he has ONE puncture and a little scratch) and babied him while I tended to my dogs FACIAL punctures....I'm tired of this whole damned thing. I'm buying locks for ALL of my dogs' kennels on the way home tonight.

Hi Trillian,

Sorry you're going through that, the best advise I can give you is to stay as calm as you can be and be watchful for your dogs until you move out. There is nothing like having your own place especially when you have dogs.

I also feel bad that your dad thinks that *your* dogs are the blood thirsty ones. It just shows that no matter how good your dogs are, your dad will always think otherwise.

get your place done ASAP and MOVE OUT! =)

Good.

Nothing good happens when in-laws/parents/friends w/shack-ups move in/live under the same roof. I recommend everyone do all they can to prevent it from happening in the first place.

There are no solutions to the crap that happens, other than moving out or never allowing it to happen if it's YOUR home.

I can't imagine how you feel. I am so sorry. My husband's alcoholic mother tried to live with us once, I threw her out after a month in the middle of the winter. No one yells and curses at my child. I couldn't imagine if someone I lived with hurt my family (including dog). I would probably throw them out right then and there if I could. Good luck and hang in there.

"Livable" is a relative term http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif I'd say get in there NOW, and work on it while you're there. Pitch a tent in the yard?

Anything to get away from those idiots and their dog.

orillaVar 07-19-2012 02:48 AM

What a bunch of idiots!! I feel for ya, family NEVER listen! I can't believe your dad, though... Doesn't he SEE the other dog starts it??

Im with Teal, I'd be outta there ASAP!

Yup, I could live most anywhere if I had to. Try and get one room and make it "livable" enough and continue to work on the rest of the house

That sucks so much i hope you can move away and enjoy life shortly
