I see this common mistake everywhere I go on the internet - in this forum, on FB pit bull pages and groups, and other boards and forums. It's getting on my nerves:
I see people referring to the American Staffordshire Terrier as a "staffy". WRONG!! 'Staffy' is a common nickname for a Staffordshire BULL Terrier. While they are both considered in the "bully breed" category, they are different breeds, they even look quite different, and it seems that there are some who don't realize that. So for those newbies who aren't clear on the differences in nicknames and abbreviations: American Staffordshire Terrier = Amstaff, Am Staff, AST, Staffordshire Bull Terrier = staffy, staff, SBT, Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this or have left any out, but this has been my understanding. Just had to get this out of my system. Whew! |
