Default Duke Thomas and kissing...
Duke is a 3 yr old Pit.. he loves people and I've never had any problems with him out in public.. except for one thing.. Everytime someone comes up to talk to Duke or pet him.. he jumps up and sticks his tongue in their mouth!!.. how do I stop him from doing this with everyone he sees??

I really need to work on greeting people with Puck too. Not a day goes by where he isn't trying to stick his tongue down someone's throat and go home with them. He always listens to a leave it and sit but he does try ever so hard. I am used to aloof dogs so it's been my one main challenge with mister friendly pants.

Harley is known for playing tonsil hockey as well. He gets over excited when someone shows the slightest interested in wanting to pet him and he behaves so well untill they reach down to pet him, they he forgets all I taught him and jumps up and shoves his tongue down unsuspecting peoples thoats before they know what happened LOLOL fortunatly everyone hes caught off guard are all very easy going and crack up over the idea but none the less its poor manners on his part.
I would just really work on your obediance, Harley doesnt get many oppurtunies to greet people he doesnt know so I dont get to practice as often as I like to prefect his lack of manners when greeting... but I guess if Im going to have any problem, being an over excited kisser is a good one to have

Nick does that too, especially with DH when he comes home from work. I've done some clicker training on that problem and has worked great. I just need to remember to have the clicker ready when DH comes home.

Yeah, Rita will make out with anyone, the lil hussy! We started asking people who want to pet her on walks to not give her any attention if she isn't on all 4's and if she tries to kiss them like that. The minute her tongue comes out or she tries to jump, attention over! The more we take her out, the more people do this, the easier its getting.

Its all my brothers fault! He trained her pretty well in everything else, but he actually likes it when she would jump on him and stick her tongue down his throat. He thinks its great afffection and encouraged it. So now we have to retrain her.

Yea Irie does it pretty much all the time too and were working on "relax" which is going well so now she just learns to calm down, not jump, and sit for petting. Sometimes she will nose smash you too when she tries to kiss you which hurts like

Work on obedience... No jumping, first of all...

My brother has a chihuahua who will stick her tongue in your mouth. I admit, I kiss my dogs on their noses. THEY don't lick my mouth, I don't let them unless I'm disgustingly dirty already. When I'm taking care of the brother's Chi, I forget and go to kiss her nose, or just playing with her and I'll put my face in her, quicker than a flash she forces her tongue between my lips. It's disgusting. It's not abnormal... Dogs lick inside/around the mouth of other dogs...
