I took my Colby American Pit Bull Terrier out today for a hike through the woods.
The main goals were two fold one let him take a good walk through the woods which he always enjoys and two to identify deer tracks for the upcoming hopefully successful hunting season.

As we were traveling the woods and I was looking for tracks my dog got on a set of deer tracks and followed them for quite some time often stopping to sniff in the air as he would lose them then put his nose to the ground and continue to follow. We followed for about an hour before returning back to the vehicle.

The amazing part to me is that he has never been trained to track, but as I was down looking at the tracks he seemed to pick up on it very quickly and track very well. These dogs are just impressive!
