i was wondering what she could be, i know withought a pedigree you will never know if shes mixed or not but im confused. So with everything ive read APBT should be tall, slim, and not on the heavy side. and am bullies are short, stoky and alot heavier then APBT. But this dog is short and more on the stocky side but shes not getting much bigger then 43lbs, shes almost 2yo. i dont have any of her standing and these are really crapy

I don't see SBT at all. All I do see is Bull & Terrier though. If there's other breeds, I don't see it in those pictures. This. SBTs have a distinct head and body shape. My APBT Ruger is the same size/build as your girl, best as I can tell from the laying down pictures. She looks like a "generic pit bull type mix" - and I don't mean that in a bad way! She's very cute |

Show-bred SBT's have that head and shape. If I ever showed you a picture of my dog's dam you would swear up and down that she is an ADBA bred APBT. Her head is wedge-shaped with the long muzzle just like the photo JoeBingo posted on another thread. Even with my dog you wouldn't really be able to tell. She could very well be a SBT mix but since this is N.A. I'll lean towards generic "pit bull". My dog is on this website. He's the first picture upper right: A & A Veterinary Hospital

For those interested in the AKC breed standard for the SBT here is a link.
Head Shape: Short, deep through, broad skull, very pronounced cheek muscles, distinct stop, short foreface, black nose. American Kennel Club - Staffordshire Bull Terrier And for the UKC HEAD - The head is short and deep throughout with a distinct stop. SKULL - The skull is broad and the cheek muscles are very pronounced. MUZZLE - the foreface is short, with strong jaws and clean, tight lips. http://www.ukcdogs.com/WebSite.nsf/B...ireBullTerrier I don't think a wedge shaped head is acceptable in either registry. At least not for competition (show) conformation purposes. |
