Default is my dog an american pitty or american bully?
I got a new puppy registered as an american pitbull terrier, but after reviewing his pedigree, I see there is bully in there? What would you classify him as?

Going by the pedigree and the picture, I'd say American Bully.

Yes, they have their own registry, the ABKC (American Bully Kennel Club), and the AADR is now registering the Ambully.
However, right now many Ambullies are still registered as APBTs.

I'd say American Bully as well.

The folks at ABKC are REALLY nice! I'd definitely recommend giving them a call if you want to register your dog with them

How far back in your dog's pedigree is Beelzebub? That dog was bred long ago. I doubt he's still alive, if he is, he's probably 10 or so.

Sorry, I misread the original post, my error. I thought he was saying Beelzebub/Bubba WAS his puppy, I figured someone had scammed him.

I do not consider Beelzebub to be an American Bully. In the first place, there was no such thing as an AB then. Casey Couturier (sp) was into breeding some bigger dogs, and blue dogs as well. If you look back in that ped, you see lots of amstaffs, some UKC GrCh, and some game dogs. I don't have any respect for Casey, but I think he would be mortified to see his dogs forming the foundation for some of the AB blood. Casey pushed the envelope of type, but not to that extent.

IDK, But I don't think you can determine rather a dog is AmBully or APBT by a Ped.
My dog is 50% Razors edge (unfortunately lol), And he is far from a AmBully. He is 60-65lbs, and to me, not over done at all. I think you have to see the dog to determine if he is a AmBully. I might be wrong, lol. (hes a bit on the fat side (65lbs) in that pick lol)

So I think you should share some pics of your puppy!
