Default My dog is officially a weirdo
He just went in the bathroom and got his toothbrush. I took it from him and went back in there, and he sat there looking like he was expecting a treat or something. So went ahead and squeezed some of his chicken-flavored toothpaste on it and brushed his teeth. When I finished he tried to grab the brush as I pulled it away. Does anyone else's dog love getting their teeth brushed? He loves his bath too...guess I should consider myself lucky.

A dog I used to have, Lucy, would do stuff like that. She'd start dancing when I told her it was bath time, and run and jump into the tub, and wait. Most of the dogs I've had don't really mind baths, though, lol, I guess that's what they get for being owned by a groomer. Most of my dogs have also enjoyed getting their teeth brushed, I think they like the toothpaste, lol

Too funny.

The only crazy thing Jt does is that he will kick around his food bowl when he thinks it is time to eat. Oh yeah...if the water dish is getting low he will pick that up and bring it to me. (Most of the time there is still water in the bowl.)

If I leave the bathroom door open my dog jumps in the shower with me and wags his tail waiting for me to wash him. he's only had 2 baths in the past 9 months that were my idea, and I wash him about every 2 weeks with a super gentle shampoo as I like a clean dog in my bed.

*sigh* if you ask Peyton, "do you want to take a bath?" he runs. Literally, bounces backwards, spins around and bolts. It's lovely haha. When you finally catch him, I always say "okay come on, its your turn" and he gets SO sad, he tries to lay down as you pick him up and his ears go back and he looks pathetic. Then he just stands in the tub and stares at me the whole time with these....big, sad brown eyes. If the dog could cry tears, he would. Silent, pathetic tears.

If he even gets near the bathroom door and you're standing there and you reach down to even just pet him, he runs away because he thinks you'll put him into the bathroom for a bath. The little shit.

I tried to brush his teeth the other day, and he was pretty good about it until he decided to take the toothbrush from my hand, run into the living room and proceed to throw the toothbrush into the air and pounce on it, and try to hide it in the couch (with that nasty toothpaste still on it, LOL). Next time....he's going to be tied up, LOL.

Consider yourself very lucky!!!

Veronica doesn't mind having her teeth brushed; although I wouldn't say she loves it.

But baths...I have to pry her out of her crate where she is curled into a miniscule ball hoping to become invisible.

My son was home on winter break and he went back to school last week. He thinks Pooh should have his teeth brushed every day and he kept that up the whole time he was home (I brush them once every blue moon). Pooh must be missing his daily oral hygiene...guess I now have to add that to our daily routine.

Archie loves bath time. When we 1st adopted him, at 12 weeks, he would always follow us everywhere and didnt leave our side unless crated. After his 1st bath we were sitting down stairs watching TV and noticed he was nowhere near us. I found him back upstairs sitting in the empty bath tub. He looked at me like "Lets do that again".

Now if I want to say the word "bath" around him it must be spelled because if he hears it spoken he jets right up and into the tub.

My puppy talks to imaginary dogs!

When he's playing very hard he stops and starts looking around real fast like there is someone next to him and he growels to himself as if he is saying..."Are you talking to me?? Are you talking to MEEEE????? Do you KNOW what a bad ass I am?"

.Damn,I thought having my one year old daughter beating on the door every time I try to shower, was annoying.I don't know what I would do if the dog jumped into the shower with me!

Speaking of weird dogs and bathes,I've been meaning to ask evryone something.Does anyone else's dog obsessively lick water off of you if just came out of the shower or pool? Joe does this and its so annoying. If I came out with a towel wrapped around me he will go crazy licking the water off my legs.I have to hurry to my room to get dressed. It would make you think he is dying from thirst, but I know he obviously is not. It's almost like he's trying to dry you off or something. It's really bad with pool water,he will lick pool water off of anyone or anything he can.He goes crazy over it like it is best tasting thing he has ever found.

So funny. Nyx RIP used to bat at the water bowl if it was empty. You'd hear clang clang clang and you knew who it was!

I love the Veronica bath saga!!! Poor puppy dog, the horrors she must endure!

It reminds me of that blog someone posted a link to, that describes the GSD who repeatedly threw himself on the floor "in exaggerated morose fashion" because his owner was packing boxes to move!

Pooh can be a drama queen too...but never about the bath. It's more like "Pooh, get out of the bathtub! It's not bath time yet!"
