Default Ears?
Do APBT's ears stand up sometimes or does it mean they are mixed? For a couple days I noticed Josie's ears trying to stay up! and they can stay up for a few good seconds. She looks just like a german shepherd I swear
This morning they were really up

Ears don't mean a dog is mixed... I've seen tight bred dogs with the CRAZIEST ears! If your Josie is young, it might just be the cartilage hardening or something of that nature.

How old is your pup? She may just be in the funky puppy ear stage.

That's the prime age where her ears will be all funky. Just enjoy that stage, it's my favorite.

At that age, you don't know what their ears are gonna do. Sinead has nice rose ears, but sometimes, she'll hear something and one will stick up like radar. It's cute.

purebreds do sometimes have fully erect ears. It's a fault in the UKC show ring, but not a huge one, and not unheard of. They cuold go back down.. or stand all the way up. Either is cute, so enjoy! lol. Get pics of them standing up, though.. in case they fall back down again!

lol, I have a purebred APBT who had beautiful ears as a up until about 7-8 mos old. As he got to around 1 year though one of his ears began to stand up. At the age of 14 mos he now has one rose ear & one prick ear. It gives him a lopsided look that never fails to make me laugh!

Blessings ...

Lucy had the most ridiculous ears as a puppy. They were huge (same size they are now, but on a puppy head) and did the craziest things. Stand straight up, flop over her eyes etc.

They still do weird shit when she's focused on something, or when she's up to trouble.
