Well. I haven’t even took a second glance at ANY S.Meyer books since the epic fail that is Twilight. But like everyone else said..a pitbull isn’t fluffy. Trust me. I have two other fluffball doggies and Princess is nothing like them.

Epic fail? I thought the Twilight series was good.

One of my most energetic, prey driven pups went to my best friend- they named the dog sissy....
And she is anything but!
She is sweet and loving, but totally fearless!

I just visited her tonight. I tell her "you may be your mamas girl, but you'll always be grandmas baby!"

When I said "fluffy" makes sense, I was referring to Gabriel Iglesias using it as a nicer word than fat ass.

Lately, I’ve been the killer of threads. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/no2.gif

Anyway, to me, Twilight was just so...mediocre. I could’ve read a fan fiction with better quality. I mean, Edward taking the engine out of Bella’s truck so she wouldn’t go anywhere? Doesn’t that sound a bit..off? Watching her while sleeping? Sparkling like his skin was diamond incrusted when he hit the light? And, in high school, since when has the new girl been the instant success and everyone fawns over. To me, Bella had no life other than Edward. Her LIFE was Edward. Other than clumsiness(which was only, in my opinion, in the book because it’s easy to make her clumsy and get her ‘saved’) she had no REAL character traits. S.Meyer said she liked to read. When was she ever being said to be reading a book?

Well, for sake of saving this post..

My pit is fluffy.

.......On the inside.

I think.

LMAO, Okay so Edward was a controlling stalker, and Bella was an obessed idiot. And there was no real plot to the story, BUT it was sorta kinda romantic and it had a lot of action... also different is ALWAYS a good thing (remember it was MOSTLY the dudes that was after her) My Winter is puppy fluffy.

Gabriel Iglesias? Is he the other Iglesias' brother? I've never heard of him. I'm not fluffy at all. LOL.

No, he not related to Enrique Iglasias. But Gabriel Iglasias is frigging HALARIOUS (at least I think so anyway. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png) He is a comedian that has shows on Comedy Central.

Here's his site: Gabriel Iglesias - Fluffy's Official Website - Stand-Up Comedy

LMAO, Fluffy. Geez now I feel soo slow.

LongaDonga 07-06-2010 12:23 AM

I'm thinking about buying one of his shirts that say "Built Fluffy Tough." After all, if you can't embrace who you are ... lol. I used to really trip about the weight I've gained over the years (gained 50 lbs alone when I was put on Depakote! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/eek.png) but now I have come to the point where I am trying to just accept who I am now & not long for who I was in the past. But I still avoid mirrors. lol.

Blessings ...

I didn't like that series either. It wasn't the actual story I had a problem with, I like supernatural-romance stuff.. But in these books, the idea wasn't executed well. Not to mention the lack of character development and other basic elements and structure of a good book. Her repetitive use of the same adjectives and adverbs took my life.. It was also kind of weird how the whole stalker-overprotective-watch-you-while-you-sleep boyfriend is portrayed as a good thing, especially since this series appeals to a lot of teen girls, who now probably have that false idea of the "perfect" relationship.
But maybe you would like The Host, because Stephenie was actually creative this time, and I never noticed near as many of her annoying, crappy writing habits. I actually felt involved with the story, and caught myself feeling sympathetic, angry, sad, etc.. And I think it is a good transaction from teen-fiction to a more adult audience. But that's just me. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png

Yeah, maybe I shouldn't judge a book by it's author. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/lol.gif I've heard pretty good things about it, and it wouldn't do me any harm to get a good read in. And I totally agree with you on the Twilight thing. I can ignore overuse of adverbs and adjectives, grammar mistakes, no plot line, but when you take a dangerous and toxic relationship like that and glamourize it for young girls who don't know any better, it makes me disgusted. Anyway. The Host looks good, so maybe now I'll try it out.

I'll give The Host a go too. I forgot that teens might would take that series to heart (never been a teen girl sorry) so put in that light y'all have a point. I originally thought it was funny now not so much.

chppjdf 09-05-2010 08:55 PM

It is Stephenie's first book for adults, so it definitely lacks a lot of annoying things you would find in books with a more teenage fanbase.. It actually has depth and is really thought-provoking, IMO. There is romance.. but it is conflicted in a whole new, twisted way. The characters are decently developed and actually have distinct personalities, unlike in SM's other books. But who knows, some will like it and some may not, but yeah I would encourage anyone to at least give it a try... I began reading it with some pretty low expectations, because I thought, once again, "here is a great concept/premise for a story that could be really awesome and Stephenie is going to slaughter it," but now it is one of my top 20 favorite reads. (I'm a total bookworm so 20 is a very small percentage of books that I've read) Hope you like it!

I agree.. I think her whole goal was to write what would sell, not what was necessarily good, or something she put effort into.

Earth is invaded by an unseen "enemy" that the humans refer to as Souls. The Souls travel from world to world, taking over the minds and bodies of their hosts. The Souls are good natured, have good intentions, and do not harm anybody. One Soul called Wanderer is inserted into the host body Melanie to retrieve memories of other possible humans in hiding for a group of Souls called the Seekers, who look for remaining humans, but Melanie resists Wanderer's "take-over" and remains present inside her mind. Although she has no control of her body anymore, it is because she refuses to give up possession of her mind that she coexists with Wanderer. The Souls have access to all their host's memories, and when Wanderer starts to remember Jared, (Melanie's "love", who is still human and is in hiding) she falls in love with him also. So Wanderer and Melanie set off to find Jared and her brother, Jamie. That's when it gets interesting. http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png
I hope I wrote that clearly enough.. You'd probably understand it better if you just read the back of the book rather than listen to me babbling trying to explain something, lol.

hernkingAnank 10-06-2010 02:07 AM

So they take over humans minds and bodies but they are good natured and have good intentions? Sorry but anything trying to take mine over I would not see as good in any way.
