Default Spin-off: Because it's a little dog...
I saw this post this morning on my local Craigslist:

(I put some paragraphs in to make it easier to read)

Hi my fellow craigslisters. i am back and the problem has gotten worst. I came to you last with my problems about my pomeranian/chihuahua. Well now i have to get rid of him he tried to..well he did bite my son the other day. We tried everything your guy suggested .

We can not take him to groomer because he will bite. Two of my neighborhood Vets will not see him any more with out a muzzle. HE is not a dumb dog he starts to growl and snarl when he sees us coming with the muzzle. So now he can not go to the vet or the groomer. I have spend over 250 in trying to get him trained. Myself my wife and my kids walk him with our other dog twice a days.

He pees on everything. We can not try to get fixed because we can not get him to the Vet ie the muzzle thing. He hate anyone who does not live in my house. Other family members have came over hunderds of times and he always tries to bite them.

So now we have to keep him locked in his kennel 80% of the day. I do not think it is fair to my other dog. so we keep her tied in the garage as well . and believe me she hates it. Both have been raised in the house since they were puppies.

But to make a long story short we love him. It is impossible for me to take him to the pound he is like one of the family. I fear if i take him to a PAWS type organization the will kill him if he bites them. Which he probably will.

Can any one help me out. Does any have a small dog who needs a play mate. And maybe can do a better job than i can. If not by friday he will have to leave my house.( my wife has ordered it if though she says she cant do it because she thinks she will cry.) i will post pictures tommorrow. Even though i have spent a lot of money trying to fix this problem. i do not want a dime back. i feel that the money time and effort was worth every penny. i just want the best for my dog a good place to live and enjoy life

-----------------------------
Unbelievable! This dog has a bite history. It has bitten their son. It has bitten their groomer. It has bitten their Vet. It has bitten other family members that come over. It is crated the majority of the day. The other dog is kept in the garage as well to "be fair." It is not allowed at the Vet without a muzzle, but the owners won't put a muzzle on it because the dog growls at them when it sees the muzzle.

BUT.....it's a small dog so maybe someone's dog "needs a playmate?" What the heck? I am sure you can imagine what would happen and the responses this person would get if "Pomeranian/Chihuahua" was changed to "pit bull."

Thats one thing that just pisses me off so much! Because its small its ok that its aggressive.

I went on a camping trip and my uncle had his 2 dogs (GSD and Aussie mix) and another lady had a doxie mix and my uncles GSD lunged and went after 2 teenage boys (bit one in the face) and my uncle just called her being protective.... I wanted to beat the crap out of him, if MY dog had done that everyone would have FREAKED out and the doxie... well that little s*&@ was both DA AND HA. I had Harley with me sitting about 4ft away (I didnt know at the time her dog was DA, just that it was HA) and out of the blue her dog lunges from under her legs and trys to come after Harley... thankfully he handled it well and didnt lunge back just stood up and started whining for a minute but seriously...if MY 'pit bull' had done that everyone would have freaked and told me to get my dog away but a doxie is just 'snooty' and the GSD is just 'protective'! My pup was the best behaved one there and everyone kept coming to see him because he was the one they didnt have to worry about attacking them for some unknown reason.... pretty sad...

Geeze... I mean, J hates everyone and everything not in the family (+1 friend who's known him since he arrived, seriously, she went and met him for the first time with me)... But I can control him, and he's never shown the slightest aggression to family. If he EVER tries to hurt Tia, me, or a close family member, I'll put him down myself.

How is it okay that your animal has to be miserable all day, bites everything, has shown that trainers don't help, and you want to give him away, instead of PTS or finding a breed rescue who can work with him (or put him down for you)?

'cause little smushiekins is "part of the family," and they don't want to take him to a shelter or a rescue because they might [would] put him to sleep.

My take on it is that since this spawn of Satan has to be locked up, they lock the other dog up (or tie it in the garage, etc.) to be "fair" to the other dog. *sigh*

if this is on your local CL; you should copy/paste it... then substitute either 'pit bull' or 'doberman' or another "scary" dog.... asking for advice.... than at the bottom, put the link to THIS ad, and ask the question if the reader STILL thinks the dog should be PTS. Wake some ppl up; show them how unstable and unsafe this dog is.

I thought that myself! Would LOVE to see how it goes....

This lil Pom-Chi needs a foot and some uprights "The kick is....GOOD" *crowd goes wild* Sorry, couldn't resist.

Honestly, though, I would take it on a one way trip to one of the vets it has terrorized.

This one got posted on my local Craigslist the other day. Talk about a liability...

4yo Male Pit Needs Help! Pls Re-Home.

We are looking to find someone who is willing and able to rehome this dog, as he needs to be re-trained or taught to be funtional in the community. He's a 4yo pit bull and not very friendly with people/nor pets- although he's never bitten anyone or anything, we just can't trust him. We have children and he's fine with our kids, but we'd never allow anyone around him that he's doesn't know. When we first got him, we were forced to give him to a relative for his first 2yrs and that didn't go very well. When we were able to get him back, we thought we could help him, but we can't. We would rather have him re-homed instead of putting him to sleep. Pls call if you may be interested.
ps. the big dog in the picture is him

Because it's little, all the biting is clearly adorable and precious, until their son started sporting a few scars.

People make me sick. I'd have stepped on it's back and killed it the first time it pulled that crap. I'm so tired of bleeding heart pussies trying to get others to clean up their mess because they're too chickens**t to do what needs to be done.

When did it become okay to coerce total strangers to solve your mistakes? I swear, no one has a sense of responsibility or dignity anymore.

I tell people calling me(dog rescue) about aggressive small dogs, that it is more loving and humane to put the dog to "sleep" then pass the dog around and around till someone gets tired of getting bit and hurts it. I have taken lots of aggressive dogs and put them down for people. Some people just can't do it, for whatever chicken sh*t reason. Hey if you REALLY loved your very troubled dog you would help it out of this world!!!!
BUT I do have 3 "aggressive" small dogs that are totally fine living with me, they just needed to be treated and trained like a dog and not a small GACK...Furkid...GACK!
My attitude as a pack leader is "you wanna play rough and dirty? Lets go!" Most dogs give it up real fast and then tow the line. They find out what will get a strong correction and what gets praise. The sane dogs are happy to be pack members.
It's almost always the people and not the dogs...

If they had just given it a good smack on the ass when it STARTED, it never would have escalated.
PTS. Child biters are a no no.
I don't know about the pit... they say they don't trust it but don't say why... if its never bitten anyone maybe it really is an ok dog in need of retraining.
But no one would know without seeing it in action.

And those people with the little dog... omg! 250 on training! Big spenders!
Hell, none of my males are neutered, and they wouldn't DREAM of marking in the house!
