Yeah my neighbors don't like me because I saved a pitbull life and in returned she saved me. She's actually a Irish stafford terrier and the worst thing I hate is I hear it from other neighbors that they're complaining. Instead of coming directly to me with a problem it's okay to go behind your back and complain. I heard it tonight that people are not going to let their kids outside because my dog will jump through my window and kill their kid. I didn't say anything, I just brought my dog over and introduced her. She loves people and gets her ass going. Hopefully it diffused the situation. I just can't believe they are scared because of her when a GS down the road has major human aggression. 101LB GSD and they're scared of my 48lb female pitbull...

Your neighbor is an idiot. It's not her dogs fault. I don't think (if it were me) that I would do harm to the dog (unless I absolutely had to) but I'd tell that lady I would.

Look lady, I've tried being nice in the past, the next time your dog comes running at me like that I'm going to mace it-I'm tired of having your dog jeopardize my safety, and the safety of my dog.

If you have to live next door to these people it's probablly not the best idea to lose your cool.Be the bigger person.I know it's not right that you are paying the price for their foolishness, but put your dogs first and don't let them be put in a position of "he said, she said" if something happens. If they live just a few houses down I'd go out before you walk your dogs and ask them to tie up their dogs because you are going to walk your leeshed dog.I used to live in an area with alot of unleashed dogs, and most of the people already had a bad opinion of my dog because of his looks...so I'd put my dog in my car and drive a few miles to a bike path and walk him there...the scenery was better too. Most dog owners do not take owning a dog that serious.I agree with you,you are 100% in the right.Good luck with your Rockweiler

My American Bulldog came from a great guy in Ypsi. Really lovely breeder. He had some wonderful pups and a couple adults stolen from his outdoor kennel (which has heat and electricity and a locked door and doggie doors to the outside fenced area) about 2 years ago. He actually had so many problems with trespassers and thefts or theft attempts that he had to build a 2nd set of kennels in his home and get a better alarm system.

Doesn't Yspi have leash laws? Get pics or video of her dog acting the fool off leash and report her as many times as it takes. You could also email me and I could come over and chew her up one side and down the other like I am some random passer by who happened to notice she's a moron....

I think she's kind of gotten the picture. I haven't seen her dog loose in a while.

I'm just glad she's a few houses down, and not right next door.

There are leash laws, they're just not very regulated or followed.

To my neighbors though, now my dogs are the least of their fears since my new room mate moved in with his shepherd/shar pei mix. This dog looks like he could belong to Satan. So now I get to hear about how he's going to kill and eat my dogs, then all the people nearby. Especially since I warned the neighbors not to stick any limbs or appendages over the fence, since he might nip/bite them (he's never bit anyone, but he's kind of neurotic and spent the first 5 years of his life being severely abused and is covered in laceration scars from his previous owner, so it seemed best to warn them.)

Good that she got the hint now I think we need to find a way to pass OSL (Owner Specific Legislation) instead of BSL.

We had neighbors like that back at one apartment complex we lived in. We moved as soon as our lease was up plus our dog outgrew the weight limit. It was people like that that made us have 15lb weight limit. And all of the little dogs there just ran about off leash while their owners were grilling or in the pool. One person would bring their pug in the pool area and the dog would jump in and couldn't swim. Dogs weren't allowed in the pool area much less the pool. His dog almost drowned twice that day and dude was too drunk to even care. A do gooder got the dog out of the pull took the leash and tied him to the fence for his safety, the owner eventually got mad because of this and went home, thank goodness. But it happened two more times until finally the complex had the courtesy officer sit out there and watch for a few days. After that the dog never was brought back to the pool. I know it wasn't long after we moved that that complex stopped allowing pets on their property. They went from allowing large dogs to just small dogs to no dogs at all. We still rent at the moment but we won't be renting another apartment because there are too many issues with that and pets. Soon our house will actually be built and we can move to our property.

Anyways its the people who are good dog owners and are responsible that get punished for the actions of the irresponsible.

Reading your post and the replies, I’ve been dying laughing for the past six minutes. My neighbours are obsessed with my 2 year old Maltese Shiki. Shiki got off of her leash somehow and being the lazy thing that she is, she ran out to the middle of the yard and then plopped down. The neighbours promptly picked her up(unbeknownst to me who was searching all over the neighbourhood, screaming and making the kissy noise ) and carried her into the garage. The whole family crowded around her and started doing kissy noised and squeezing her and kissing her hair and the whole bit. I know this because I was talking with the son of the neighbors who thinks his family is crazy. So after ten minutes, they squeezed Shiki too hard and she barked sharply and bolted out of there. I seriously think they would’ve kept her forever had she not bolted. Ugh! Sorry for the rant. I can just relate to the annoyance of neighbors. Oh, they hate APBT’s, so when we got Princess they really laid it on thick.

Default I hate my neighbors. So much.
So, I took my 7 month old Rottie Damascus for a long walk today (weather was PERFECT for a very very long walk, then a romp in a nearby field to chase birds and work on being off leash).

My neighbor for some freaking reason NEVER puts her collie mix on a leash, and likes to hang out in the front yard with it (nice lady, but dumb as a stump).

Last week, I walked by with Damascus, and her and some friends were out front having a few beers. What I didn't see was 2 small dogs, and the collie mix, until they ran out at us flipping out.

Damascus is good with other dogs, he's just kind of in your face with them (lots of hard sniffing and licking).

As always, the people took their sweet time rounding up the dogs, while I tried to keep them all away from mine. Damascus went to sniff one of the little dogs, and the collie mix went off on him.

So I got to break it up while all the people were just yelling "Cooper get off of him", no attempts to grab their dog at all, and the dog clearly had no interest in listening.

When they finally got the damn dog, the owner went into a drunken rant on how pretty my boy was and how her mother had a Rottie (but she kept calling it a "Rockweiler"). She then told her dog, "In a couple of months, he's going to eat you, so you'd better start playing nice", like he can understand what she says.

I asked her to please start leashing up her dog, for his safety, and for the safety of other dogs in the neighborhood (there's a very busy road nearby) because I live nearby and there are many other people who walk their dogs near her house.

So today I walked my Rottie, and guess what? Her dog was loose again, and she was grilling out front, not paying any attention to her dog.

And guess what happened again? Collie mix went off on my dog again. And she took her sweet time again getting her dog.

She chased it around the yard yelling at it, and it went into the street several times (I was praying a car would come and hit it). She finally got it into the house by saying "You want a treat? Get inside!". She put the dog in , and GAVE IT A TREAT.

The kicker was, THERE WAS A CHAIN OUTSIDE FOR THE DOG IN PLAIN VIEW.

I went off on her. I've been walking my dogs past there everyday since I moved here in October of last year, and never had a problem until last week. I had already told her politely and very clearly she needs to leash her dog when it's outside, and I can't be held accountable for what my dogs do in self defense and that if I walked by again and saw her dog off leash, I would go straight home and call Animal Control. Not to mention she had a freaking leash for it tied to the porch and wasn't using it. She knows I walk my dogs at the same time everyday. The least she could do is keep her dog in until I pass by with mine.

I got to hear, blah blah blah, it's my dog, I do what I want with it.

So I told her if I walked by with my 2 other dogs, and her dog pulled that stunt with them, she'd be looking at some hefty vet bills, or be looking for a new dog.

Also, there's no way I can walk my dogs without passing that house, I live on a dead end street, and my neighbors probably wouldn't take too kindly to me going through their yards.

Although I will be walking on the other side of the street from now on, and hope it runs out and gets hit by a car.

Sorry, long rant. My boyfriend's sick of hearing me rant.

That's why I'm turning my Doc Martens into my walking boots again.

Which makes me sad, I was so looking forward to wearing my Birkenstocks until October like I did last year.

It's those irresponsible AC officers and cops, and people in general who wouldn't know a pit bull from lab, and don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground.

I need to get out of debt so I can get my CCW. You can legally shoot dogs in self defense in Michigan right? Even if it's not legal, I'd like to wave it around, maybe fire a shot or two in the air.

People like that make me so mad! What would it take to just put the dog on the chain in her yard? A few seconds out of her "busy" little life?! It would save her the running around and yelling looking like a fool trying to catch the damn thing! Ugh, sorry now I'm ranting...

She already looked like a fool. She had on pajamas and a shower cap.

I'm so used to irresponsible dog owners, it's sad. My BS tolerance has grown more than I thought it ever would. Not to mention a few of my (now sort of) friends are the worst dog owners ever. But I can punch them in the face and cuss them out. I wish I could do that with strangers.

One thing I can say about this event though, Damascus is exhausted. He's laying on his back on my bed next to me, with his head on my legs. He usually passes out in front of my bedroom door.

It could also have something to do with going to the field nearby and chasing birds and working on his off leash training (he's so good now, he was a nightmare as a little puppy).

At this point in my life, I think I hate almost everyone.

It's sad to be this bitter at 21. Good thing I have my dogs, and my boyfriend loves my bitterness.

I need to finish school so I can make mad money, and move to the Upper Peninsula somewhere in the woods, so I can be a crazy dog collecting forest hermit. My problems will all be solved if I take people and their stupidity out of the equation.

There's gated communities for retired people, we need one for responsible bully breed owners.
