Default I am an idiot. (Possible new dog)
So, I was screwing around on the computer and found a sad middle aged pit bull that needs a home. She was pulled from an abuse case. She is underweight with bad eyes. And she looks just like my old dog that is dying. She has been in the shelter for 3 months.

So, I had my non-dog SO go and see her. Of couse, my SO loved her.

So I am on my way.

I need to get blocks put on my computer to keep me from looking. I have no need for a 4th dog. I. Am. An. Idiot.

Wish me luck. Pray she's already gone!

The least you could do, is get her back to good health and adopt her out.
Best of luck to ya!

far be it from me to argue with your assesment....
you have just given the reason I will not look at sites with dogs that need adopting.. no puppy sites.. no resuces.. I have two dogs and the plain simple truth is, that two is all I can really take care of, and do it right...

Well, she wasn't gone. I don't know how to post pics. She's no beauty, but she's sure interesting. Appears very mellow. But it may be a ruse. They told me she didn't like or protect rawhides and when I pulled one out and offered it to her, it nearly took a pry bar to get it back. SO, who knows who she is. I was told that she came from an 80 dog bust involving a fighting ring, but who knows. She needs a ton of TLC. She's a wreck. I'm not going to sleep tonight.

At least I'm giving myself a day to come to my senses, although I have already picked out a name.

She's never been in a house. She pulls like a freight train. She doesn't know "sit." When I went to say good bye, she was trying to scale her 6' concrete run. Tail low, not tucked. Cautious but willing to approach. She just keeps jumping up and wrapping her legs on you, but it's real soft.

I think I may have just gotten another dog...

Any wisdom?

hmmm.... go slow, and watch for DA, especially if it's suspected that she came from that sort of situation...
obedience training probably wouldn't hurt, one step at a time.

i hate dog sites. i had WAY more dogs than i do now... it was pretty crazy till all the fosters got placed, and it was all because of stupid sites like that.
