Okay so I just had to share this with everyone lol. If anyone saw my post in photography, artwork and videos.. You saw the video of Brinks barking at his reflection in the mirror.... Well, tonight he saw my boyfriends reflection in the glass in the sliding door and started going crazy. And now he wont stop looking at the glass and he keeps freaking out lol. Hes running all over the apartment looking around, and then runs back to the glass to bark some more, and then he'll turn around and look at me, and he gets super confused lol. Does anyone else's dogs do this???

I have a bird that tries to attack herself in the mirror. She puffs up real big and starts hitting her beak against the mirror. I'm like, I thought birds were supposed to be smart.
They did a study with dolphins, and the reason they think dolphins are so smart is because they can interpret reflections, like they see themselves in the reflection and they know it's them. I think dogs, and I guess birds, just don't have the mental processes to understand what reflections are. So he say you boyfriend in the reflection and he's like 'hey where'd he go!?'. He'll forget about it eventually. |

Hopscotch uses the windows to hunt squirrels. Everytime Capone has encountered a squirrel, he's been afraid of it, ran away with his tail tucked. Damascus went crazy when he saw his reflection in a mirror a while back. He spent about an hour barking and growling at it. Then he spent another hour laying in front of it, staring at his reflection and pawing at it, then getting up to find the dog on the other side. He gave up after that.
He did the same thing to a wooden dinosaur cut out I got at a thrift store. |
