it's been a long time since i've posted anything. we moved in with my parents december 2008. ever since we've moved in my mom spoils these two rotten. >_> they get as many cookies as they want. kobu doesn't simply play with capone or play with her toys anymore. nope...she whines and cries at everyone now till she's taken outside and been allowed to play fetch. i can't get it through to her (mom) that she can't keep this up and how their obedience is lacking. *sigh* i'm going to have so much fun when we're back on our own.

I feel your pain.
We have an in-law apartment and Veronica has a Grammy that spoils the crap out of her too. We sort of "share" the dog, in that when my husband and I are at work, Veronica stays with her Grammy. So in that sense I am rather screwed because 1. Veronica has never been alone for longer than 4 hours tops, and that is very rare and 2. My mother's entire life revolves around the dog (so even if I felt I could separate them, I never would). I just figure it is my cross to bear. ![]() On a positive note, Veronica seems to behave differently with different people, in that she understands her realtionship is different with different family members. For example, she follows my mom around to get her attention because she knows she can and will get it; at home if DH and I are busy...she'll go lie down and nap. DH and I will engage in rough play with her so in play outside she will sometimes jump on/at us with her toy wanting to play tug. She never does this with my mom (who is 70) and is extremely gentle around her all the time. Anyway...Good luck! (My mom wisely concluded, "It's a good thing you never had children, otherwise we wouldn't be speaking to each other"! We fight enough as it is over the dog. ![]() Oh did I mention that when Veronica knows she's in trouble with me, she runs to her Grammy's? ![]() |
