Other than what the others have said I will add that I hope you are prepared for the possibility of huge vet bills and heartbreak if this BYB happens to sell you a dog that grows up to have skin conditions, allergies, bad hips or knees etc etc. You know, the things common to BYB pups....

If you want to rescue...why pay for a pup from a byb when you can pay less for a pup at a shelter/rescue that has ALL it's shots and wormings up to date and is spayed/nuetered to boot?

If you want a puppy NOW...there's tons of pit bull puppies available for adoption, one of whom's life you can save RIGHT NOW.

Can't really beat the saying: "Don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die."

There's really no reason to ever buy from a BYB. The puppy might be cute, but you're just continuing the cycle. BYB can't end if people keep buying from them.

some back yard breeder. Yeah i know it is bad to support the back yard breeders because it is them that are the reason so many pits are in the pounds and shelters. I just want this puppy and hey then he wont get sent to the shelter in the future then if some one else bought him instead. But in the future i do want to rescue more Pits. He is a Brindle Pit Bull just like my 7 month old female i have. I am not going to breed them i just want a male and female pit bulls. they will both be fixed .
Those two things don't mix

We just got our pup from the shelter. $150.00 and she's been wormed, first vaccines, spayed, and temperment tested. Can't beat it. Not only that but we received a free vet visit of our choice, 10 % off first purchases at area stores, and certificates for money off puppy classes, and grooming. And cute is only so cute when you are paying huge vet bills for a sick puppy.

yep, agreed with Luna. I paid the same for my puppy, and he was 1st vaccinated/wormed, neutered, microchipped, etc. I got 30 days worth of free pet insurnace just incase anything crazy happened, and I still get discounts from training classes and whatnot because he's a rescue/shelter dog and a pit mix. It's quite nice.

You could pay 200 or 300 bucks from a BYB and not get anything but just the dog. No vaccinations or anything. That's probably guaranteed.

In the future i will adopt from a shelter but i do still want this puppy. Besides im saving him from ending up in the shelter months from now from another owner that cant handle an APBT.

ok, ease off folks... enough has been said.. the points have been made... and when someone is not listening, as in this case, it does no good to continue yelling the same thing over and over....
we all know how important it is to get two dogs of the same color, and we all know that buying from a byb does not keep them in business, it keeps their dogs out of the shelters...right?...
no beating dead horses here...OK?

Congratulations!

Also Pitbull_loverforever and MsAcer the pup just looks like it has a puppy coat, mine did when he was born. It will eventually go away and tarantula hair will take its place. They also sometimes the coat will become darker or lighter, just all depends.

pits dont have long hair...sooo...whatever that is it is cute. I wish I could change your mind about rescuing or buying from a responsible breeder but honestly our mindset is so common thats why BYBs are still around after all.

Please get them fixed. Dogs can get pregnant at 6 months old. PBRC offers financial assistance for spays/neuters: http://www.pbrc.net/fund/ap_neuter.html
