I think it depends on the individual dog but I have noticed APBTs and breeds alike have a very high play drive and have a case of the zoomies a lot!

I don't know exactly how fast it is, but when we take Debo w/ us riding quads, he can keep up in 2nd gear, but gets left behind in 3rd. I'd guess it's maybe 15-20 mph. He'll run at a full out run for quite a while though; it's not just a sprint. They've got crazy endurance, that's for sure!

Over at Jason Mann's site (pitbulllovers.com) he had some pictures of one of his dogs on a rig where they can run in a circle. One of them would get going fast enough to get airborne.

I'm pretty sure that's where I saw it, it's been a few years now. It was hilarious though, the dog was just flying and having a blast.

had a few that could keep up with a greyhound for the first 100 yards then the greyhound would just pull away.
I used to have a speedo on a mill i had if i remember right most would reach around 26/27 mph fully wide open running.

Gypsy used to run like the wind, and she still can if she is chasing a rabbit, lol.

A mate chased his down the road in his car when it got out and he clocked it at around 60km/h. It wore the pads off her feet doing so though.

Lugz will run with our ATVs in 2nd or 3rd gear and will run as long as you let him but we have to watch him so that he doesn't overdo it because if he over does it then he will walk around limp for a while.

I would think the taller, skinny lean ones could run faster and have more endurance then the stockier, more heavy boned and muscled ones.

I think you're right. Dante is taller and bigger than ginger. But her legs are longer in comparison to her body. So she runs faster than him. I've seen ginger leave dante in her dust many times.

Depends on what they are chasing! :0

Mollie used to run with the 4 wheeler (before it broke down), and she cannot stand for you to get in front of her. I've seriously gotten over 30mph, and she will not let me get in front of her. I've never pushed it past that speed, but God forbid if I ever got in front of her, I think she'd have a heart attack trying to take back over the lead.

hmm mine is a little over weight, but is extremely fast. Hes really short and pretty small in person though, hes only 18-18.5 at the withers. So maybe thats why hes fast lol

I love when small dogs are fast as hell. It looks like the matrix when they run.
