Default Owner brag: Great compliments on recent walks!
On the last two walks Sully got some really great compliments. She met one guy, and as he was patting her he asked what kind of dog she was. When I told him APBT he looked surprised and said "wow, she is really friendly for a pit."

Today she saw a crossing guard who complimented how well behaved she is (she kind of really isn't, lol, but we have trained her to sit at every curb so she looks like she is). She said that Sully was really sweet and she thinks "those kind of dogs get a bad rap."

After that she saw a man who was holding a sign (today is election day in our city). He asked if she was an Amerian Bulldog and I told him she was an APBT, and he said "wow, very social for a pit." Then he complimented her on being so pretty, lol.

Everytime someone makes a comment on how "social she is for a pit" I always take the opportunity to tell them that most APBTs actually are super friendly to people, but can be DA. I always say yea, she will kill you by jumping on your face and smothering you with kisses.

I am so glad my girl can help pass on the message that these dogs aren't evil! I just had to share, I am a proud mama! lol

Fantastic! You're doing the breed a great service by letting the public get hands on with her... it really makes an impact!

Are these compliments towards your dog or slights on the breed?

Both, but if she can change one mind it's a great thing. Good job Sully!!

Very nice Makes me wish I could own a pittie and show people how awesome they are... Maybe some day! I get people telling me how pretty my shepherd is, but I don't let anyone pet her :P

That's great to hear!! All dog owner's should strive to get those kinds of reactions, especially the "aggressive" breed dog owners. Badu, Zappa and I are working on it. Having a Chow mix and a Pit mix pulling towards some one or dog is not very inviting. So keep up the good work, and hopefully I'll be boasting on here soon as well. It takes time and patience.
