Default Sometimes it really is the owner.
Two weeks ago I posted this Fox 13 news @ 10 tonight - General Dog Discussions
About the "pitbull" that "attacked" its owner's girlfriend.

Here is the follow up story. Look at the photo of Jake. It looks like a purebred lab.
http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2...29/526823.html

Unfortunately, maybe this guy shouldn't have any dogs. Toward the end of this video Pinky, one of Jack's petbulls, scales the 6ft fence while charging at the camera man. Fortunately there was a secondary chainlink fence that slowed him down, and his owner managed to catch him. Just what the breed needs.

I vote to ban him from owning any breed over 10lbs.

Thanks for posting. I didn't see the follow up story on the news. That guy is a moron and if a news team was coming over don't you think you would atleast mow the backyard?

i think the news man is out of line! so what if they are proctecting there terrory every dog does why would a pitbull be any diffrent casue its a pitbull you can see how ignorant the reporter is. For the guy i wouldnt let the neew man make a story about it. Why for they can flip the story around.

You know, I really hope these people realize that maybe they need to educate themselves some more about dogs. I'll bet they leave those dogs together unsupervised all the time. They really need to learn how to manage a multi-dog home or they're just going to keep having problems.

a tall wooden fence? That fence didn't look tall to me...the max maybe a 4' high...I like how they made it sound like the dog was ferociously "charging" at the photographer...It looked like a really mean dog...

idiot owners and journalists, IMO

Edit: okay I just watched the video...by the still photo it didn't look like a standard privacy fence... I still stand by "idiot owners and journalists, IMO" I would never allow anybody news outlet to film my dogs because they only have one agenda and thats to destroy ALL Pit Bulls.

The privacy fence was 6ft tall, unless the owner is a midget. Since when he came out of the gate, the fence was head (or just over) height on him.
Not starting an argument, just pointing out.

I'm with Alma.... morons! Just what our breed needs, more negative press with a camera man standing there, camera in hand.

see my edit please

I spoke at first by what the written report said and going by the still photo...I added the "edit" part after watching the video.

Just to be fair, the article says the dog was a pit bull/lab mix & vid says the dog was a mix as well. As for the other 2, if he keeps letting them run around together like that he'll have no dogs at all.

And as a side note - I know he was trying to portray his dogs as sweet, but there is NO WAY I'd let a camera man in my back yard. The man is a stranger & he has this weird "monster thing" with a big eye staring right at the dog - Most dogs of ANY breed who had any backbone to them would have challenged it. My guys might not have jumped slap over the fence, but at the very least mine would have barked ferociously. My Heeler or Dobie might have run him off though.

Yeah, I guess I am an odd ball since I actually read beyond the headline. lol.

But I might print the article out as a example of how many headlined pit bull attacks aren't really pit bull attacks at all.

Ive been following this story WAITING for a picture of the dog...low and behold, even though the damage is done, not a Pit Bull.

ABK- Unfortunately what matters is when this was "breaking news" here in Tampa, it was a Pit Bull. Not a Pit Bull/Lab but a Pit Bull (100lbs, keep in mind)...so no matter what they say he was now, breaking news catches all the attention.

In the general public eye a pitbull mix is considered a pitbull. I would definitely say that was a pitbull lab mix, no matter how much I love pitbulls, he didn't look anything like a pure lab, and I seen some "pitbull" in there.

This guy really shouldn't own any dogs, seems like a fool to me.

and the media took complete advantage over it too, this guy is a poor example for the Responsible Dog Owners and he should have known better than to invite the media to video tape...grrrrr
