ok, so this news article's title caught my attention and i'm SO glad that i read it.
THIS is exactly what all of us have been tryin to tell other lay ppl/local governments/etc : the media is not always right. in fact, they RARELY get things right 100% time anymore b/c ppl want INSTANT news. so, instead of doing leg-work and finding out the truth and comparing one person's account to another's for inconsistencies or for corroboration, they just run with they have and if/when proven to be WRONG, don't ever even bother to print or air a retraction with the truth. and thereby letting the public continue to think that the lie is the 'truth'. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090511/...kipedia_hoaxer i wish to thank this guy a million times over for this. bravo Shane. |
