Default Hair length?
So i rescued my girl Lupa, she's a little over 6 months now. Since i rescued her i'll never know if she is pure or not (doesn't matter to me), but I was wondering if hair length is a signal that shes a mix. Her hair seems a bit longer than some pitbulls, almost an inch in some spots on her back.

Do all pitbull types have the really short hair or do some have longer hair than others?

Here are some photos of her, you see her hair length but i just want to put her up because i think she's awesome

A couple days ago

a couple months ago.

I meant to say you can't see her hair length in the pics. Can't seem to figure out how to edit my post.

Lupa's (She-Wolf) a good looking young lady. That's a good question regarding hair length. I've never thought of that.

I have a UKC dog who's hair is about an inch long.
And a rescue who has "porcupine" hair, very short and stiff.
I think it depends on the lines. IDK

Yea the hair on her back where it is longest is no longer than an inch. I've heard two people say it looks like she has some lab in her but I don't really see it.

Tess' fur is a bit long, but she might have something mixed in her, so, that might be why.

Peanut has a very short very flat coat...due to that he seems to get cold easier then the 2 girls who have a thicker fur at my house so he wears a sweater since we been having cold weather.
my brothers dog has thicker fur and she has a black coat as well.
regardless that girl is pretty

She is adorable no matter what. Very cute picts!
She looks nice and shiny

There are certainly some lines of purebred dogs that seem to pop out an occasional pup with a bit longer hair.

In UKC- a long coat would be a disqualification in the show ring
In ADBA- it is just listed as a fault

That's one good thing about the longer hair, she doesn't get too cold when we're outside and loves playing around in the snow.

ive got a dog just like yours...its a female that I rescued about 2 weeks ago....a friend found her and didnt want her....

Im in your shoes...I have no way of knowing if she is pure bred or what...but I was in PetSmart and a pit bull breeder was in there..and she told me ...that it wasnt...cause she could tell by the length of her hair and the thickness of her tail...I actually thought the same thing as she...the hair is really long compared to every pit I hae ever seen

but if anyone looks at her their first thought is PIT...LOL..that was hers....she actually said the same thing....that it could be mixed with a little lab.....probably 95% pit

everything is PIT About her except for the hair length and tail....SO im ok with that....

Its brindle and wieghes in at 26.1 ...the vet told me she is about 5 months old...

Her name is SQUIRT...

one day I'll get a picture of her
