Uh, Crusty--

I read the Snopes report.

What makes this post SPAM?
Spam is generally defined as, "one or more unsolicited 1 messages, sent or posted as part of a larger collection 2 of messages, all having substantially identical content."

This posting is cut & paste of a chain email that has been circulating for 6 years now; in which time there has been ONE case of such an incident (4 years after the email started circulating). To appease the unreasonable fears, most companies that maufacture this product has changed the way the process it to remove the harmful byproducts.

This forum's community guidelines define spam as, "Spam: Posting spam (the same post or information multiple times in one message board or many) isn't allowed and will be removed.

This same post was made on numerous message boards TODAY (a few of the links below). Given it is an (for the most part) baseless email intended to spread unwarranted fear, I'd say it meets the definition of SPAM. If Alice disagrees, she'll leave the post... her call not mine.

Probably someone who works for a major fertalizer company trying to divert business their way by spreading fear.
