It is a god suggestion. However I am also asking about what would happen if a person were to say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hannukah" or something to the same effect.

Salam Alaykum,

Now that it is December, many Muslims will feel the urge to say "Merry Christmas" to Christians and the public in general, even in societies that are not majority Christian.
