****ing A, Mark.

W leaving office, Obama getting sworn in, and Lost starting the next night? As close as I'm ever going to get to a religious experience.

I can not ****ing wait!

And I, for one, definitely want to see more of Charlotte. That sentence can be read in any way you'd like, and it's accurate.

A guilty pleasure for myself also.

I hope it continutes to get better. Last season got me more interested again and I'd like more.

It was funny watching the special last week seeing all the really really obscure crap they put in this show.
I'm sure it's great fodder for the chat rooms but a bit much to expect most people to recognize.

Since about the midpoint of season three, two years ago, when Desmond had that "flashback" where he relived his life with Penny and revealed that he had been foreseeing Charlie's death, Lost has been on ****ing fire. There have been, at most, three subpar episodes since then (the Jack, Kate, and Juliet centered episodes last year), and everything else has been ranged from a solid up-the-gap double (introducing the freighter team) to a freaking bottom-of-the-ninth, World Series game-seven-winning grand slam (Desmond's episode last year).

I have poker night tonight, but as soon as I get home I'm watching it off DVR. I may not get to sleep until 2 or 3, but it'll be worth it. Provided Galnemer doesn't kill me, anyway.

MAYBE OBAMA WILL MAKE LOST MAKE SENSE!!1 CHANGe1! HOPE!11

Fun fact: You have just compared the presidency to an utterly ridiculous television show by merely mentioning them in the same sentence. And people say Obama is not a celebrity can chew on my seed. mAMD

So the first four season only amounted to 108 days? How come the kid is like 4 years old then?

The people who escaped the island fast forwarded three years. It was a way to get Michael's son back in the show, and explain the whole puberty thing.

Yeah, the writers have scored again. Some of it may be because it's been awhile, but a big part is the plot has somewhere to go. Having one group with a real goal (sucker everyone back to the island) gives you a feeling of progress. In the middle seasons many shows didn't really contribute to the overall plot and seemed like filler episodes. No one can say last night was filler

WELCOME BACK LOST.

Well, that conversation took place some unspecified time during the three years Desmond was pushing the button prior to the crash; and with all the weirdness about the past not being able to be changed, and Desmond being "special" and the rules not applying (maybe because of turning the key?), and... ahhh, Christ, I don't know.

Sheesh, will they ever have attractive regularly appearing women on the show? So many women and nobody to really enjoy looking at!

Ummm... are you joking?
Not at all. I know many guys are happy in this regard but for me, the show mostly seems to pick the ones that aren't my type. To my tastes, Kate is decent looking but fairly average, Juliet would be very good but the way she always looks unhappy and a bit smug is turnoff, Sun just isn't my style, Charlotte could be very good but has an ugly face. Claire is, sadly, blonde, I actually thought she looked great in the brunette scenes.

Another interesting bit of Island history that just set in for me...

The wheel & ice chamber that moves the island pre-dates Dharma; I had thought it was a part of their experiments. I wonder if it even pre-dates the Others/Hostiles.

Could have been built by the same people that built the 4 toed statue.

It'd be cool if Darma had made the four toed statue, and called it the Artiodactyla Station.

It's there to research walking. Or something.

"Jughead" was a good episode. I like how they explained Richard at Locke's birth, and showed the shady side of Daniel.

Also--bury the H-Bomb in concrete?

Like that mysterious force behind several feet of concrete in the original Hatch?

I think maybe Jughead might have gone boom at the end of Season 2. Maybe. But it makes sense that it has something to do with the Swan; that "bury it in concrete" thing was just too conspicuous.

I don't know if she ever was mentioned by name, now that you mention it. That was her name in the credits of "Flashes Before Your Eyes", the original Desmond time-tripping episode in Season 3, if I remember correctly.
