Default "why do they hate us?"
really i cant stand when westerns ask this question about muslims living in the arab world and SE asia.

they start wars implant dictators and dehumanize us. they treat muslim peoples like children not capable of controlling themselves without western "help" which is just an excuse to take natural resources. and then ask "why do they hate us?"

google "fallujah deformities."

that is why your hated.

I haven't done anything to anyone.

I guess since I am held responsible for others action I'll hold you responsible for 9/11.

but do you support their actions? thats the question. supporting them or being silent makes you an enabler.

considering 9/11 was a response to imperialism i really dont have issue if you hold me responsible.

There are crazies on both sides. Neo-cons/right-wing extremists on one end, Islamic fundamentalists on the other end. It's the people in the middle that eventually pay.

You didnt do anything?

It's your government, that your people voted for. And most probably you as well as your friends and family etc. voted for your government that causes horrible things in Muslim countries.

I agree with you. If they want the oil, they should just be honest to themselves and to the whole world by saying: "we went there to take their oil and we don't care at all about the people". To me that would sound a lot better than: "we are going there to improve their quality of life and to free them; they are bunch of savages".

I don´t think there is any justifiable reason to hate an individual based on what others of the same ethnic group/nationality/continent/hemisphere have done. It´s just plain ignorant and idiotic.

you really think "islamic fundamentalists" are equally responsible for the massacres in iraqi and afghan cities done by US/UK soldiers who shouldn't even be there in the first place? what about the state of isra-hell backed by the US consistently without question? you dont think any of these factors make the west the agressor and that there are "crazy" people on both sides?

"crazy" makes it seem like its a minority but we are talking about western governments/militaries. so there really not just fringe "crazies" there representatives of a culture.

western imperialism creates the entire situation. if the west did nothing to the middle east and never got involved they wouldnt be attacked by mujahideen as an act of defense.

You didnt do anything?

It's your government, that your people voted for.
I don't vote. If I did though what could change? We are given a couple of options. Obama, a member of the party thought to be less warlike, expanded the wars instead of ending them. Who are people suppose to vote for?

If it was up to me we would have nothing to do with your people at all. No wars with you, no help given to you, none of you in our schools or ours in yours and neither of us in each others countries. If it was up to me we would have no contact with each other at all.

That would be great, because just some stupid people would believe that your country is just "helping" without expecting 1000 different things and stirring the shit up in Muslim countries.

Without "your help" and other Western Europeans "help" , the Middle East would be a far better place.

I don't care if it was a living hell or an Earthly paradise. Doesn't matter to me either way.

but you still have the mental state that we need your help which is seen by the way you wrote this post. you speaking to her as if its a threat that your country wouldnt be there to "help" us. this shows:
1. that you think you are helping us
2. that we want/need your help

we really don't.

You live in London. What a grand surprise that you live in the West and enjoy its many benefits yet bitch about it like a proper hypocrite. Show at least some respect.

However, I agree. The West should definitely keep away from the Middle East.

I voted for Ron Paul in the Republican primaries. He would withdraw all troops immediately.

Conversely, after 9/11 I wouldn't have been opposed to a massive nuclear strike which would have brought all suffering in the region to an abrupt end.

Blaming the people of Western countries by wars in Muslim countries is a textbook case of YouAreism. So is blaming the Muslim people of the harm done by some Muslim sects.

In addition NATO recent has intervened in a war in Libya, yes ... but supporting Islamist rebels! Same when USA supported the Islamist rebels in Afghanistan in the 80. And just as the Gulf monarchies have alliance with many western countries and promote Salafist jihadism in the Middle East.

And historically, we suffered several invasions by Muslims and Barbary piracy attacking ships and coastal cities for centuries...

Obviously the West has done much more damage than the Islamic fundamentalists. That being said, the Islamic fundamentalists that resort to killing innocent civilians for their cause are still crazy. There are of course people that are driven to such movements because West attacks them, and I don't hold them responsible. I have always sympathised for the Muslim people that get caught in the middle of Western military adventures in their countries.

by killing millions of people and brutally wounding millions more not to mention birth defects/deformities and disease...?

ive noticed people like you love to make statements like this. i dont know why you find lack of concern for human beings so appealing.

But, amerinese, wouldn't you think that if Homeland Security in the USA was so easy to break, the Soviet Union or Cuba or China would have taken you down a long time ago? It seems pretty reasonable that those planes were allowed to reach their targets because some people, in the USA government, knew that invading the Middle East could be very profitable, and therefore they decided to allow 9/11 to convince the American people to support the attack.

3aeshah, he brings up a fair point. Why do you live amongst - what you consider to be - the enemy?

Why live in a western society if you're against it and do not wish to adapt to it in any way? (not you, I mean relgious muslims in general)
