Default School closings
So all of the Elementary, Middle, and High schools in my area are closing to day for the COLD. No snow, no ice, no chance of either just because its cold.... and its only 10f here.

I am sure the kids are happy about it but I think who ever decided that they should close is a big pansy.

/rant over (bummed his uni and work aren't pansys)[shocked]

If the heating is not up to snuff in the school then it might be legally too cold to go there.

It's due to the wind chill. Keep in mind many kids have to stand outside and wait for a bus for a long time. They did the same while I was in middle school in Kansas one day, when the wind chill was -40 F. While the wind chill isn't that cold down here in the south right now, I know most people don't own the gear needed to stay warm at those temperatures. Hell, I had to take my 3-in-1 jacket out of the closet and dust it off for yesterday and today's weather down here in Atlanta. I haven't had to use it in my 4 years here yet

Some people don't have appropriate tires on their cars and the water from the exhaust can cause black ice on the roads too.
