As salaam alaikum wa rahmatullah,

In our Masjid we call the Adhan approxiamately 1/2 hour before Fajr and Ishaa. Somebody has raised an objection and said that it is against the Sunnah to delay the Adhaan, and that the Adhaan should be called as soon as the time for Salaah starts regardless of what time Jamaa'ah is.

Anyone care to shed some light on the issue, are we in the ok or has the individual got a valid point?

Is it proven from sunnah that adhan should be made as soon as the time enters? What we do know is that the time between the adhan and iqamah is supposed to be short.
