Does anyone know the source of this incident or something similar related about Sufiya At Thawri RA?

Sufiyan At Thawri once made the intention to go in Jihad. His nafs was encouraging him to go, so he became worried. He pondered over the matter and he realized shaytan wanted him to go out in jihad because he would not fast every other day as per his normal habit. So he made the resolution to fast while in Jihad. He realized his nafs was still encouraging him to go because he would have to mix with people while in Jihad, and this was against his normal habit. He then resolved to stay in solitude while in Jihad, but his nafs still encouraged him to go in Jihad. He then realized that his nafs was so exhausted due to his constantly going against it and performing good deeds, that the nafs wished that Sufiyan At Thawri RA would go in Jihad and become Shaheed.
