![]() I yesterday received an email about "Khurafaat in an indian song" and i just checked it. The title of the song is "Ishq Suiana" and the lyrics contain some extreme Khurafaat like "Mairay dil ko Khuda say Juda karday.. Tu mujh ko Fana kar day".(Auzoobillahi Min Zalik) The blend of such Sufish music and such "deep" lines is old and i do hope that some Sufi will jump at this and say " You ignorant literalist Wahabi you don't know whats deep down these lines" but whats the stance of the scholars of Deoband about such songs from the Indian film and music industry. There are many other such songs which contain extremely offensive poetry using Islamic words. How do the Ulama there take it and why are they silent over it? Has the "secular Islam" of India swallowed it silently in the name of Indian nationalism and Hindu-Muslim brotherhood "for the larger interests of Muslims" as well? ![]() |
