Asalamu Alaykum.

I don't really understand whats wrong with muslims? When the Ummah think they are so strong and religious, then why don't we create a Caliphate to control us?
Is it true that we are waiting for the Messiah, instead of doing anything ourselves?

Prophethood will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain, then Allah will raise it up wherever he wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood remaining with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, He will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a reign of violently oppressive rule and it will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, there will be a reign of tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, Allah will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood.

One hadith also says it will last 30 years. (the first caliphate)

But isn't it our responsibility to make one?

It is our responsibility, but I have heard that Caliphate couldn't be back before the arrival of Imam Al-Mahdi A.S.

I can't discuss this matter in depth cuz don't have much knowledge, wait for the response of Mufti/Ulema.

brother, various efforts towards that goal are still ongoing. No Muslim would abandon the Caliphate and the Law of God. But at the same time we also realize the shortcomings of the ummah and the need to rectify it at various levels simultaneously. Let's be persistent, and no step is small in trying to get the Caliphate return to the Muslims ummah, and to do it properly as according to the sharia because our ultimate aim is only for the Pleasure of Allah
