I would like to know whether working in an environment where both males and females are working is allowed or not? This includes offices, institutions, universities, hospitals etc.

Better to ask a mufti. For example Mufti Ebrahim Desai. The ruling can vary from situation to situation. As a general ruling, one should avoid it as much as possible. In cases of dire need, ulama usually give permission. However, one will have to make much effort to not to indulge in haram glances, chatting with females. Again, if you have got a particular situation, it will be best to ask a mufti, or seek a personal advice from a shaykh (for example Shaikh Nabeel Khan d.b.). Wallahu A'lam

it realy depends most places are mixed now a days so as long as you dont get into a relationship you will be fine i guess but dont take my opinion ask an expert
