If you don't want to buy something, here is a good place to start:

Any program will have a learning curve, some steeper than others. If you need something quick I'll be glad to do it for you gratis. I use Photoshop and The Gimp. Photoshop is about $500 but The Gimp is free. Both have pretty steep learning curves.
