Default Internet Explorer 8
Microsoft has recently released their new beta of IE8, a new follow up. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm not even sure if it's compatible with XP, but it would be silly if it wasn't.

Thoughts or input?

I'm running it, on XP, haven't had any problems. I haven't really tried any of the new features yet, at least not on purpose.

So, I decided to go ahead and update, so-to-speak, and install IE8 RC1 to my version of XP. Hey, honestly, no complaints whatsoever. It's much faster and seems to be stable. OK, so I haven't put it through all the tests yet, but so far, so good. Meh, there were a couple of add-ons that weren't compatible, but actually older things I never ever use. Not a big deal at all. If anyone has had good/bad luck with RC1, post it here. I want to listen.

I'm using it with Windows 7 beta and it seems to work just fine, though I am actually using firefox at the moment.

I was tempted to try the Windows 7 beta at one point, but by the time I got around to it, convincing myself, all downloads were suspended.

Loaded up IE8 on Son of HAL 9000 v2.0 (XP SP3) yesterday afternoon. Didn't notice much speed improvement but that is subjective. The latest build of Firefox seems to be slow on initial startup (on the order of a few seconds) but that could be the plugins checking back with mama for updates. I'll continue to use Firefox unless IE8 gives me a reason not to, mainly for the richness of available plugins available to Firefox.
