DO you have the name correct. I've never heard of a "Samsung Galaxy Recorder 5" and a google search is coming up bust. Samsung Galaxy is a smartphone and there is also the Samsung Galaxy Tab which is a tablet/slate like iPad.

You are probably referring to their Tablet. The 10.1 is the latest. Samsungs' products are excellent quality judging from the digital camera they make.I'm sure that their product is just as good as Apple's is. Apple is the king of how to market their goods.

Nope I'm talking about the Galaxy (recorder/player)...it's not the smartphone tablet...this is a 5 inch...quite similar to Apple's but with better camera rez, still camera with flash as well as vid...Hubby and I have done comparisons between it and Apples...it seems more versatile and isn't locked into Apple apps....It's was released to the US in January of 2011 in limited #'s...We just wanted to find someone who has one...we played with one at Micro Center here and it has better clarity, a expandable Micro SD memory, and faster response...

Two comments. It's much newer then iPod Touch and just isn't going to compare. This device will blow the iCrap doors off. Bigger screen, better battery, better camera. Google App store with browser that can run Adobe Flash.

Why buy this and not a phone? Nobody wants to carry on of these AND a phone anymore. And even if you think you do you really don't not once you've tried to do so.

I have a Samsung Captivate phone and an HTC Inspire phone. They are both well worth the money. Faster than the Iphone I had and more useful apps than Apple ever thought about having. I can do anything with my phones that one can do with an Iphone and probably d it faster.

I'm with Nline, get a Samsung phone. I saw the Captivate at Radio Shack for $0.00 with a 2-year contract. That was yesterday and they change their sales on Sunday.

Well I can understand that but have you seen this:

http://www.virginmobileusa.com/cell-...umph-phone.jsp

It's the only decent Android that a pre pay cell phone maker has. It's a great phone and will do all that you want on it. It has a smaller screen but a better camera metal NOT plastic case. It's total android. It's a damn good phone.
