Default So who going to run out a buy an iPad?
Well the big tech news today was the introduction of the iPad by Apple.

Could this be any more disappointing? Lets see basically we our shown an over sized iPhone, with all the flaws that such a device has. It has limited memory compared to a tablet laptop, no storage, no webcam, it can't run flash or java (so no hulu, netflix, espn or 1000s of other popular flash based websites.)and only runs the same apps that an iPhone does.

It has no SD slot, no USB, no DVD to play movies on.

Steve Jobs(who looked like death by the way) claims this thing can run 10 hours. Most iPhones struggle to run a couple of hours and the one of the biggest criticisms is fact the fraking battery is trapped inside the unit. You can't change it without tools and a major teardown.

Size of the screen really appears to be the only benefit to this device over an iPhone. I predict a major dud.

A lot of people will go out and buy it simply because it's Apple.

And then there's...

-- Not liking Apple's new product's name: iPad. Sounds like a feminine hygiene product. They should've gone back to the drawing board on that http://blogs.knoxnews.com/silence/ar...t_time_o.shtml

Apple doesn't impress me. Their computers are ok, but i am windows trained and prefer what i know how to use so well.

but the whole IPhone thing, to me, represents the worst of business. 30 bucks to download stupid apps that you will never use. I would never make a 30 dollar app purchase, myself. I might do it for 5 or 10, but not 30.

i will stay with windows. the open source software does all i need at a price that i like.

and i don't like the fact that Jobs seems to have bought a kidney on the black market. I know good people who need a kidney and are suffering.

I want an IPod Touch. Other than that, i am not actively wanting anything apple.

My take is this is the Newton 2.0.

Fail:
1.) Locked into App Store
2.) Reading eBooks on a Glossy bright display hurts.
3.) Can't install Firefox
4.) No Flash
5.) No MS Office (As much as I am not a fan, you need this support)
6.) No facing video cam
7.) AT&T

A lot of people will go out and buy it simply b/c they feel they have to impress others by owning the latest gadget.

No thanks. As BFFT said above, Windows based computing has never let me down. Unless your in the graphic design business or just a hardcore nerd, there is no good reason to buy Apple.

AT&T is releasing Android based devices within the next couple months, which is going to put a huge dent into iPhone sales no doubt. There is a reason AT&T is going this route, they know the Android devices are better.
