The "Put your car in D for forward, R for Reverse" is about the lamest idea...
It's almost as dumb as the "get us out of the ditch". While it sounds good, it lacks any practical logic. to say this once, maybe twice each is one thing, but when you are using it as a cornerstone of your campaign, man Obama must really be screwed.
While Republicans are arguing the real logistics of our policies, Democrats seem to be trying to win this time around with slogans instead of details. Obama isn't sitting down right now, going into technically detailed conversations about the economy, the way a Republican like Eric Cantor does, who looks like Bill Gates, while Obama looks like a used car salesman! It seems to me that Republicans are willing to listen to, and have reasonable discussions with Democrats, but not the other way around. In all fairness, Republicans were kind of like that in the first Bush years, especially after 9/11. There was a point where if you questioned Republican Authoritarianism, you were nearly condemned for treason. Alas, I cannot wait for the day when both Republicans and democrats have only an influence over our lives, instead of total control. |
Who's running on this stupidity?
And tell them "R" Stands for "Race" |
Obama is, as well as Democratic chairman Tim Kaine. Pretty much the whole party subscribes to it.

"D" is for dat way.

Us, "conservatives" are only conservative by contrast. We believe in self-responsibility and practicality. Do I hate war? Yes! but I understand there is a practical way to end wars, and sometimes unfortunately a reason to wage them. Do I want to help the poor? Yes! But, I realize there are natural economic laws and you can't destroy others to help others, it only leads to destruction for everyone. Democrats want to feel good about themselves. It is a very self-centered orientation. I have no doubt they desire good things. It's just that what they do produces the opposite. It's really a shame that they can't understand the difference between saying things and doing things. |
I have leaned slightly Democrat through most of my life. It is very clear to me that while Republicans are making real, serious efforts to break this stuff down, and fix it. Every little policy, every little political position, they are willing to discuss it now. They are communicating to people what ideas they have, how they plan to implement them, and why they will work. Meanwhile, the Democrats are passing key chains and slogans! Even though they are going to be in the White house longer than most of the parties Senators and Congressmen, they use as little details as possible. They don't sit down and tell us what they have planed, why they want to do it, and why they think it will help. They are just shouting out these stupid analogies that serve no purpose to actually fixing the economy. We don't want to talk about what the Republicans did to "drive our car into the ditch", we want to talk about how to make things better now. We'll have plenty of time to point fingers and place blame, but in the meantime I want to hear the best ideas from the best people, regardless of party affiliation.
