Default French creole cultures of the americas
French creole Culture is the lesser known Culture of the Americas here are some famous French creoles, our Language which is Remarkably intelligible with some others creoles half way around the world. Every year In Dominica We have Creole fest (just one of many in the Americas/world), Louisiana creoles bring the Zydeco, Martinique Creoles, And all the other French Creole people come to Dominica for the Annual Fest. I sometimes wasn't allowed to go out of parents fear I would get into trouble.

I knew a few people from Guadeloupe and Martinique back in France, and some of my grandparents lived in Guadeloupe for some years when I was a kid, I went there regularly and still keep very good and vivid memories of the place.

Are there many connections between Dominica and Martinique/Guadeloupe?

Probably quite a few. I would think so. Most Dominicans I know who arent my fam are Halfies, Dominican/Trini, Dominican/African American Dominican/Ethiopian. I dont recall ever meeting a half Guadeloupean and Half Dominican/ Martinique, but I'm sure it occurs I know it goes on with St. Lucians too

they tell you they are different because of a complex most have anger against anything french related and feel the term french is a dirty word and many do not even understand the term creole in any context outside of language. many people speak of creoles in Haiti as the mixed race/white and mulatto Haitians. many Haitians are unaware of the roots of Haitian kreyol or their own culture.

Hmmm interesting point of view… I think there could be some truth to that. What is your ethnicity?
