That's weird for me to hear, frankly, Many of the people I posted would pass as Europeans with no problems and only as Light-skinned hispanics in the US? These below wouldn't pass as plain white? So light brown and blond hair and light eyes are common among the mexicans in your area? I remember you told me only 20% had an offwhite or med white look.

The Mediterrnean look is associated with Mexicans in this area, I've talked to a Spainard with a Med phenotype, and most WASPs thought he was a Mexican because of his tan skin, dark hair, and dark eyes.

The blonds would be seen as White, until they say they are Mexican. As most Americans associate with Mexican as a race, they would be considered non White. Race in the US is wierd.

Even if they have a surname like Faure, Jourdan or Moreau?

Depends on phenotype, more Med looking=Non White, more NW Euro looking=White. .But if thier last names was Gonzalez, Lopez, or Garcia no matter how European they look would be seen as non White because of the association of Mexicans as being non White on average.

EDIT. I just saw thier photos. They'd be seen as White by most people.

Even speaking Spanish? So their surnames would be what would made them be seen as white?

Yep. Spanish surnames= Non White. Thats why Carlos Estevez changed his name to Charlie Sheen to get WASP roles.

That's funny, now that I think about it Cameron Diaz, Frankie Muniz or Christina Aguilera are seen as mainstream white in the US, aren't they? Even with hispanic surnames their movie roles where Waspy.

Dude in the picture has a pseudo semitic look however he's pueblid admixed, those features are unmistakable to my eyes, he's just a depigmented balanced light mestizo.

I think people in 1, 5 and 6 would be seen as white. Everyone else would be maybe considered white, but not "white-white". Lol! Some sort of Mediterranean or something, which is seen as not "white", but not "non-white" at the same time. It's weird...

I guess Americans don't realize Spain is a European country and millions of spaniards left for Latin America.

I know ppl of german descent whose parents changed their names to sound more "anglo". They are as white as they get. That's just what ppl used to do around here.
As for Charlie Sheen - showbiz has it's own rules. Cameron Diaz is playing white chick roles and that ain't bothering no one.

Joanna Garcia has a common Spanish surname, and most of the role she play in hollywood are not Hispanic role.
