IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will make another attempt at qualifying for the U.S. Open.
Romo will take part in the local qualifier May 9 at McKinney's Stonebridge Ranch Country Club's Dye Course. If he moves on, the sectional qualifying is at Dallas Athletic Club.

The U.S. Open will be held June 16-19 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
Romo reached sectional qualifying for the first time last year after advancing on the third hole of a playoff at Honors Golf Club in Carrollton.
Romo had to withdraw from the 36-hole sectional qualifier at The Club at Carlton Woods at The Woodlands because of a series of weather delays.
He was tied for 10th after the first 18 holes with a 71 but struggled on his second 18 and was 7 over when he left. The Cowboys had an organized team activity the next day, forcing Romo to fly home before he completed the round.
Romo should have plenty of confidence heading into the local qualifier -- he's played a number of tournaments at Stonebridge Ranch, winning the Adams Pro/Scratch event in 2009 with playing partner Mark Walker.
