Importing NFL Stats into Excel
Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to import NFL team stats as seen here:
http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NF...r?sort_col_1=4 into Excel? I'm trying to make a custom spreadsheet to view the data of the current week's matchups a little easier than what I've seen at any (free) website. I'll gladly post anything I arrange for anyone to use if they'd like. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me with this. ~Pure |
I know of a way to do it, but you need Frontpage to make it happen. If you have that, here's what to do:
1] Access the page's source code (Ctrl + U for Mozilla) 2] Find the beginning of the table that has the stats 3] Copy all of the code for that table, go into Frontpage, and select the "Code" tab to insert HTML code 4] Paste the table code into the window 5] Click on "Design" and you'll have the table right there 6] Select the entire table, go into Excel, and paste the table 7] Huzzah! |

if not there may be a setting on your excel that is messed up. (sometimes you have to use text to.(grid?)...(I can't remember the name, it's up in tools, at work don't have excel here) |

Reformat your rows/columns, take the hyperlinks out of the sheet, you should be good to go. |
