I dare say, not a single PAP MP or Minister dare to go on a one-on-one live debate in an international forum away from local censorship. Not even LKY.
I miss those days where JBJ thrashed him and got him all flustered in Parliament.
LOL..good point!

MOS Tan Chuan Jin said this of a 72 yr old Singapore cleaner:

“I asked him if his children were supporting him and why he was working. He said that he would be bored if he stayed home and if he could still work, he would rather still continue to do so.”

Can TCJ put his hand on his heart and say that he truly believe that this 72 yr old cleaner and others like him eg elderly toilet cleaners, aged table wipers, cupboard collectors, drink can collectors, dustbin scavengers, elderly tissue sellers, etc do all these because they have nothing better to do and dont want to be bored at home? Or is TCJ trying to deceive us and look good because he cant get his pap masters to help the poor? One way of not having to do anything is to deny there is a problem.

How can TCJ and like-minded PAP MPs sleep well at night when they say things like that? Singaporeans' misery is everywhere for him to see if he chooses to.
He is paid to spew shits. Don't take it too hard as money make his world go round and it can be quite dizzy for him to think properly before he speak. Hold him with a gallon for salt for now. Next election, aim his butt with precision and than give him the best kick of his life he will never forget just like what Aljunied did to George Yeo and team.

The real question to ask is. Did their children abandoned them? Did you abandon your parents?
many elderly singaporeans know the financial situation of their children. they love their children and know that they are struggling with the high cost of living in SG. These elderly Singaporeans wld rather go hungry or remain sick than be a burden to their children.

do you know that many elderly Singaporeans choose not to go for medical treatment so that they dont nurden their children.

Please do not bad mouth these financially strapped Singaporeans and accuse them of abandoning their parents when you dont know the true situation.

I would rather see my money go to feed the elderly in Spore than seeing my money being used to hold stupid integration parties for the new citizens..

very true. it is not that SG needs money to feed Singapore's poor. It's pap's wrong priorities that the poor is not fed. The pap chooses to integrate foreigners, chooses to sponsor and pay for the education of foreign students, chooses to loan $4B to INF but refuses to help SG's poor .

SG has enough money because the pap said that if we pay 7% GST, SG will have enough money to feed the poor. what happened after they collected 7%GST? the poor remains uncared for! but the pap has money to go to China and invites PRC students to come for fully sposored education

This is a typical PAPzi reply to problems that they have created. The answer is their policies are perfect or near perfect and any issues we see are non existent. This is a paper general that has no experience running a ministry nor private entity but has sumonned to be paid millions of dollars to do very little for the rest of his life other than to tai chi his way through the misery of the citizenry.

True. a soldier has been trained to accept orders, obey and die. Looks like TCJ is a true soldier. He cant think for himself without orders from higher ups.

I thought that TCJ may be one of PAP's bright stars who can bring change to the PAP. With statements like what he just made, i am beginning to question his ability to effect change

You are sharp Tracy. They do it all the time. A $1,000 salary can buy you a 2-room flat. So no problem with this level of income. Your old parents can work as cleaners so no need to have better welfare schemes for elderly. There are family and NGO community self-care schemes, why do you need further govt schemes. 60.1% of the population does not need minority protection in the election, why change the election system. And it is on and on. The only thing that can get them to act is what you have repeated often, through the poll.

What do you think? Should you allocate some tax revenues for the greying community who have already done their part earlier paying taxes to support subsidised schemes for youngsters like you? If your answer is no, what do you propose we do to these people?

Tan Chuan Jin has turned out to be a disappointment. I was quite surprised that he was rated below Kee Chiu. Now we know.

It's easy. You can give directly to welfare organisations that help these people. Nobody is stopping you. What are you waiting for? Waiting for govt to use other people money for welfare?

Not goin to blow my own trumpet here.. For the past 3 years, me and my wife have been donating a certain amount of cash to a welfare organization to help the needy families.. What I'm waiting for??? I'm waiting for you to jump at Bedok Reservoir so that there'll be less vote for the PAP comes 2016..

That's the gambit the PAP plays when they want to increase the tax burden on our back. When they have taken your queen for the carelessness of ours in not doubting them, that's it. Remember promises are made in heaven and when it is made to opium smokers where most citizens are drooling on our opium pipes the human logical sense just goes astray. That's the sad part of our society when we all of us miss that golden opportunity to clip the wings of our tormentor. PM just have to shed a bit of beady tears and say 'sorry' with his empty promise of listening to us made to the opium smokers high on our addiction just do the trick. Now you want to ask them to honour their GST promises. Is that not too late, lady.? The only silver lining is that you will have one more shot at them 4 years from now and when the time comes please remember don't drool on the opium pipe again.
