many elderly singaporeans know the financial situation of their children. they love their children and know that they are struggling with the high cost of living in SG. These elderly Singaporeans wld rather go hungry or remain sick than be a burden to their children.

very true. it is not that SG needs money to feed Singapore's poor. It's pap's wrong priorities that the poor is not fed. The pap chooses to integrate foreigners, chooses to sponsor and pay for the education of foreign students, chooses to loan $4B to INF but refuses to help SG's poor .

You are sharp Tracy. They do it all the time. A $1,000 salary can buy you a 2-room flat. So no problem with this level of income. Your old parents can work as cleaners so no need to have better welfare schemes for elderly.
