I am certain many of you are aware of this phrase, “Once A Thief, Always A Thief”. There are many types of thieves. However all thieves have one thing in common. They have no shame. They don’t feel ashamed of stealing. It’s in their genes. It can be hereditary. It can be passed on from one generation to another.
Indian caste system was based on a profession one practiced and passed on to the next generation. If one started his life as a carpenter he passed his profession to his children and the children to their children. Thieves are religious. They are God fearing too. They seek salvage under religion for their crime. Every time they steal they pray to God to be forgiven. If a thief is caught and sent to jail he returns after serving his sentence and starts stealing much bolder than before because he has no reputation to lose. Thieves come from all sections of the society. During the riots in UK recently children and adults belonging well to do and not so well families were caught looting shops and homes. A senior police officer blamed parents for bad upbringing of children who resorted to stealing. Stealing is an old habit that dies hard. The more one steals bolder he gets and one can not correct them because they do not know how not to steal. So they go to their graves in a stolen coffin. Wait for more on thieves and the type of thieves soon and the thieves who can not be educated. Blind are those who refuse to see how to be honest. Rajpriya |
