Nothing, neither of the two kids/teens were kenshi at the time they started throwing there anvils on us, i think that one of them (Kumdostar) found a dojo/dojang, don't know if it's true though.

hah! all i can say that its hard and im defintaly not use to it.. btw its kumdo not kendo since japs dont live in so-cal area..

ne ways i have problems w/ the basics of it.. can u belive me? basics!!...
Well, as much as I want to say great keep it up, what you say is a bit shocking. California is such a wasteland that there's 3 kendo federations there, and 2 for So-Cal--SCKF and SCKO. I'm know members of those are active on the forums. Basically, I think it's a given that there's a lot more kendo dojo's out there than there are in most of the country.

Back to trying to be cheerful and encouraging...

Basics will be your problem for a while--just keep at it. I've been at it for about 7 months now. I was recently encouraged that it can take years to get the timing right so just keep at it. At this point, you should be learning how to walk and keep your posture correct. It was a rough month sliding the feet across the room over and over, but it got better... We got to chop air for 6 weeks after that. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif It's a slow road, just keep at it. There are no shortcuts to success.

Kumdostar found one all right. My old "Kumdo" McDojang. It's not even a legit dojang. Grrr... I live three blocks from that place. Makes me mad it's not legit... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

Well, I can think of only one legit Kumdo dojang in all of So Cal, and that dojang is in Tustin.

From what you are saying, you don't go there.

And, I have never heard of a Korea Town. (? Is there even one?) There's a Little Tokyo though. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

There are so many Japanese sensei in Cali, it's not even funny.

Kaoru
you'll be suprised at all the towns here in So Cal. There is Korea Town, Lil Tokyo, Okinawa Town, Thai Town, China Town..etc

the "WLA" dojo tim is talking about must be the "LA" dojo that i think a few of the koreans that practice at chuo started up in koreatown. i dont know much more details so forgive me for the poor description.

and i remember park sonsaengnim's new dojo is called "ACE" dojo. cant forget a name like that...

Interesting.. I thought one of the senseis from Sho Tokyo started a new dojo recently... And yes, the other one is called "Ace".

If you add an "m" and its the acme dojo! Known for portable holes and shinai you can tie in a bow knot! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif
