You are sitting in front of a computer that would have filled a skyscraper had it been built in 1956. You have terabytes of the world's accumulated wisdom at your fingertips via Google. I.e. I don't know http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif.
I believe kendo is an uchikomi practice style. It teaches us how to think and respond in a real fight with limited techniques. We use armor and bamboo sword, shinai for this and there are large tournements all over the world.
Kenjutsu teaches us how to perform in a real shinkenshobu fight with a wide variety of techniques and teaches us how to perform them properly. Usualy kenjutsu consits of practicing the same forms maybe about 10 over and over untill you can do them perfectly with no real sparing and chance to practice your own style.
There are also arts inbetween like Aiaido which teaches how to draw a real sword and us it properly. And jodo that teaches us how to use the staff with about 10 forms as with kenjutsu but this is more relevent to kendo in a way and the to are widly practiced.
