kendo/kenjutsu questions

i was wandering the differences between kendo and kenjutsu. ive heard kendo has the basic concept of kenjutsu, but its not the same. i was wandering if anyone knew a kendo or kenjutsu dojo around me. i live in northwest georgia on the border of georgia and tennessee. this is usa.

You are sitting in front of a computer that would have filled a skyscraper had it been built in 1956. You have terabytes of the world's accumulated wisdom at your fingertips via Google.

I believe kendo is an uchikomi practice style. It teaches us how to think and respond in a real fight with limited techniques. We use armor and bamboo sword, shinai for this and there are large tournements all over the world.

Kenjutsu teaches us how to perform in a real shinkenshobu fight with a wide variety of techniques and teaches us how to perform them properly. Usualy kenjutsu consits of practicing the same forms maybe about 10 over and over untill you can do them perfectly with no real sparing and chance to practice your own style.

There are also arts inbetween like Aiaido which teaches how to draw a real sword and us it properly. And jodo that teaches us how to use the staff with about 10 forms as with kenjutsu but this is more relevent to kendo in a way and the to are widly practiced.

Nah. More like "I'm too lazy to answer someone's question, when they could've answered it themselves with 5 minutes of research." I could have been mean and straight to the point by saying "Google it, dumbass." I don't ask many questions on these forums unless it's something that hasn't been asked yet or can't find the answer to myself via research.

This same question has been asked 100s of times but google isn't always the answer.
This forum is for asking questions that you need another persons view on.

Some people seem to have lost there brain and have to rely on people online to tell them what do lol..
